I don't think its right to judge the state of music by the commercial crap thats made for 12 year old girls, but yeah the amount of crap has increased because of greed as you say.
What puzzles me is when a grown ass man still listens to commercial pop and the fucked up rap we have a lot of today.

The commercial crap is the bulk of the music industry...that's like saying that we shouldn't judge the state of fast food by what McDonald's, Burger King,  and Wendy's sells...they especially McDonald's are the bulk of the fast food...
