What would you do if your country was invaded?

I started on a underground bunker after reading this thread. Digging and posting as we speak.

Lets use the U.S. for obvious reasons.  For the sake of the book I finished today and the video game I'm about to play I'll use ideas from the book.  In the year 2015 Kim Jung son of Kim Jung ill is running north korea. (it doesn't deserve to be in CAPS ) North and South Korea reunite and Kim Jung un is looked at as a hero.  He earns the TIME Magazine Person of the year award.  Meanwhile the United states is fucked, unemployment is at and all time high because of the economy but also gas prices are now consistantly 18 dollar per gallon. The economy is because no more countries wanted to lend us money they wanted to cash the checks we gave them. So the U.S. had to pull out of key areas in the world. All of the Middle East, after North and South Korea reunited know as the United Korean's People Front they don't want the U.S. on their bases.  In 2018 the front invaded Japan gave them a bad beat down. They continued to occupy Japan and took our weapons and aircraft and learned them. In 2020 January 16th, multiple EMP hit the United States in all major metropolitan cities. You can't use any form of communication. this  24 hours after initial impact. In addition, days prior to this there were news reports of bombs in trains on subways in 7 major cities all seeming to coincide and the death toll was over 400 so far. You are yourself no superpower or any other bullshit.

What is your plan for the next 72 hours, week, month?  Lets put your location in Sacramento, California.

 If I was in Sac-Town i'd go up into the redwoods or the forests up by Mt. Shasta. Or maybe to Yosemite. Take all the camping and survival gear I have and camp it out. Bring a 30-30 high powered rifle with lots of ammo, blow the brains off any mother fucker who looks at me wrong.

I would find a third party 'munitions factory. Not a government facility, but maybe a used gun dealer. I'd load up on as much ammo as I could.

Once I secure weapons, water filters would be next. I would need to have a large stock of light weight water filtration equipment.

I'd want to hole up in a facility which could give me advanced sight, perhaps on a hill, but be fairly immune to gunfire. Maybe a natural cave with limited entrances. I could set up enough fletchette / low yield claymore mines to protect the primary openings.

Caves are far enough down water often congregates in them. They offer some small protection from a/b/g waves. If the water could be filtered, it would offer a safe place to live. It's also fairly consistently temperate year-round.

From there, it'd just be camo gear and food.

My guess is that the people running our country would hand an AR-15 and 500 rounds of ammo to about 1 million violent prisoners.

They'd tell them they would get a 100% pardon if they bring back the left ear and dogtags (or whatever ID) from 5 of the NK invaders.

my opinion is that we have 800+ bases worldwide because it means IF there's ever a collapse, you have a bunch of pissed off military men with tons of weapons able to destory a whole lotta capital cities as their last play.

I thought there was some rule - if a nuke ever goes off on US soil - that we will automatically nuke all the mideastern capital cities?  And that's why their govts stop terrorism on that scale?

anyway, americans are lazy, but we love a cause.  Any foreign invader would trade man for man on a ground invasion.  We'd have to get nuked to avoid such a fight, in which case we'll never feel it anyway.
