Anybody can be a pro bodybuilder.......EASILY!!
;D

lol, you know what i meant, and i was talking about that second guy. he's as wide as a barn door, with a tiny waist. he'd look amazing with a lot of mass on him and he'd have an easier time getting a pro card at the same weight/height compared to someone else. all i meant. turning pro is grueling and not something i would take lightly or consider an easy feat.

you see the guy doing double bi shots? u think they dont care about looking good?
I`m sure they care, but aren`t training for bodybuilding.

Of course looking good should be a benefit of weight training, but it`s not the reason to start Olympic lifting.

You`re missing my point.

I`m certainly not gonna` debate it for 5 pages with you when I actually don`t care all that much about what they do anyway.  ;)

OK,I stand corrected.

You made it sound like anyone could do it, while there are tons of national level competitors who look awesome, and have been trying for a card for years and years, but will sadly never get one even though some deserve to.

Some folks here are so delusional that they think if they megadose tons of gear, and add in GH and insulin, that a pro card is inevitable, when the fact is they are dreaming as it takes much more than that.

My bad!

They looked great as amateurs.....blame it on the judges for allowing abominations to win contests.

Correct, just ask the 400 contests at last years Nationals who take tons of GH year round, yet failed to even place top 10.

i agree, but i think politics and "money/unwillingness to use extreme dosages" limits a lot of guys. 20iu a day gets thrown around constantly around here but if anyone has ever added up just how much that costs a year, it's as much as a used car, not many people who aren't 100% driven to becoming pro will run those kinds of dosages or be willing to spend that money on gear. not to mention the dosage will go up even more when someone is growing into a show.

the politics definitely plays a big role in it too, or maybe it's just luck, but there are a lot of guys who to me, while they are definitely huge, they don't really look that great or have the genetics but are extremely good at pre-contest cycling to give the illusion of being much bigger than they are. i think most people, barring the extremely genetically unlucky, can theoretically do both of those if they are driven enough, but the amount of effort and dedication it takes with shitty genetics to accomplish a pro-card is going to prevent most of those ungifted people from ever accomplishing it unless it's their only and main goal in life where they are willing to do anything and everything that it takes to get it.

training always gets ignored here but i think it's really important to building a foundation for the gear to work on. i don't think i've ever seen a thread on this board about methods of training, but i guess most of that stuff is pretty intuitive and giving it full intensity is the pinnacle of what you can really do in a gym to grow.

They don`t do 15-20 sets of curls,or pressdowns like a bodybuilder would.

Possibly a few sets of curls and some close grip benches, but nothing extensive in MOST cases.

They are concerned with getting their lifts up rather than looking great in a pair of posing trunks.

Their arms get worked hard indirectly anyway, but most don`t worry about arm size, they worry about the total of the two lifts which make up their sport.

Just my opinion,as I have known and seen many an Olympic lifter train in my day.

pretty accurate

but people need to get over the myth that these guys don't do assistance exercises like rows, bench press, curls etc

there is hardly anything they don't do, being professional and all, having nothing else to do
