Just my personal experience, but I stopped doing stiff legged deadlifts on leg days and my back recovered better from the previous deadlift workout that week.  My deadlift #'s for back day have dramatically improved.

deadlifts are the only exercise i wont due, either takes too long to recover or a blow out my back or combination of both

but are they ok for pussy dieters :D :D :D

and on a side note, i quit doing rows for awhile, coz i'm a torso dominate kinda guy, and only did SLD's for legs and ass, but guess what? my lats grew and got thicker and wider

and this had to come from the SLD's as i had dropped rows and didin't do any kind of pulldowns or chins either

I'm a completely natural bitch, all Creatine, Crystal Lite, and Pickled Eggs...

I do stiff legged dead lifts on leg day (Monday), should I do regular dead lifts on back day (Wednesday)?

First of all, you should know the difference of these two exercise:

Stiff legged deadlifts
And deadlift


Then you have to learn to do them right. Then you don't have no problems doing them. You can do deadlifts in your weekly routine, but it doesn't make any sense to go to max week by week, so you do something like this:

Every week start with the warm up by doing 20 reps with low weight. In my own training deadlifts are the last exercise after training my back.
week 1 two sets reps 15, 12
week 2 two  sets reps 10, 8
week 3 three sets reps 6, 4
and week four 5 sets, reps 12, 8 , 6, 3, and one rep max.

By giving you amount of reps I mean that you have to choose weight, which you can't do more reps than that.

The training frequency depends on your volume & intensity. So you need to experiment with these 2 variables to find out how much work you can do to recover within 3 days.
