I think commercial gyms with a cross section should have an additionalset of rules during prime time hours(4-7pm)
-Not using more than piece of equipment at a time
-15 minute limit on using each piece of equipment(30 on cardio)
-no more than 1set of dumbells in use at a time
-crossfit to done in certain area of gym
-equipment to be used for intended use(ie power racks for squats, deads, cleans, presses, rows, shrugs)
-no loitering on equipment
-no more than 2 people on any one piece of equipment(bye bye bench press and pec dec posse)
-no blocking of aisles and walkways
-smaller benches and equipment(dumbells, barbells etc) to be left in thier respective areas
-put weights away
-put dumbells back where they belong(huge pet peeve)
-training partners to use same equipment and not taking up separate benches etc doing the same movements.
-Share equipment is mandatory if person is doing same movement only, exception for 2 person max per piece above
If your someone from whatever sport you profess to practice and require deviate from the above come during non peak hours or GTFO
Not just the meatheads or crossfitters that are guilty of some of the above, but
