The Dolphins' O-line has sucked all year. Tannehill was on pace to be one of the most sacked/hit Qbs in NFL history before this all happened. It just sucks a little more now just like the rest of the team regardless of what side of the ball.

Idk I'd say until this year the bears have had the worst oline in the history of the nfl I remember watching a Monday night game last year and the tackle was getting blown off the ball 7 yards back into the qb routinely, another mon night game I think the NYG had 8 sacks in the 1st half vs them. I don't think I've ever seen any of that happen on any level.

Initially, we saw a partial transcript of ONE voicemail, from Incognito, in which he used the n-word and threatened Martin's family.  People (myself included) said that dude needs to be out of the league.

NOW - we learn the word was used nonstop in that locker room, and many black players gave Incognito "their blessing" to use it - Not that it makes it any better, of course, but the NFL didn't do anything to Riley Cooper for using it.  And many players say it's used all the time between players.  So that part of the suspension would be hard for NFL to justify.

On the THREATS part - there were 1100 texts between Martin and Incognito - And they made threats back and forth all the time, about shitting in each others moms mouth, killing their whole family, etc, and they kept posting buddy pics on twitter all the while.  They were buddies and they did this, it's just how they were.

Martin's lawyer said it was one-sided bullying... we still don't know the whole story, but we know the threats were friendly and went both ways. 

Martin was a shitty played who hated his new position on the O-line, wanted a payday and a way outta the league.  His mama has a history of workplace lawsuit, his lawyer was just jilted by the NFL for their players rep job... perfect storm.

Yes people laugh together in lockerooms and in life in general, and sometimes they re not joking, there s something more. Well in that case there was something more, it ceased to be jokes and became a desire to kill a weaker individual "for fun".  If you re smart enough everything makes perfect sense and is justified.
The funny is that all people who worship incognito and admire his character and probably shape theirs based on his, will know the same fate one day. It's ok to be tough and all, but it's not ok when you use who, what you are, to kill weaker people psychologically and/or physically.

Dude, the voicemail that Incognito left where he said, "I'll fucking kill you" was clearly just messing with him.  I heard worse pledging a fraternity.  Fact is, the dude Martin should have never played along.  He was too soft for that type of game, but tried to "fight back" and before you know it, had a meltdown.  We see that shit here on getbig on a daily basis.  Some chump thinks he can hang, sends out insults, then when he really can't take it anymore, it spirals out of control and he melts.  Fuck Martin, no one will ever want him in their locker room.

Martin was trying to muddy the waters.  He'll be shown to have obviously participated in the back-and-forth.  If I'm a coach, and I see two grown men choosing to spend their night life sending each other violent texts while laughing, hey, I'm staying out of it.  If Martin can issue death threats so casually (and they say he issued many), it's tough for him to claim he was in fear of his life or he needed to go to mental hospital.

If you earn the right to start in the NFL, regardless of position, you don't suck...I'm sorry but I just don't agree with that. The NFL is the elite. And if you're good enough to start, you're pretty damn good regardless if the team you're playing for is Seattle or the team with the worst record. The margins between elite and good are slim on that level. There is no such thing as average when you start on Sundays in the NFL. Just my 2 cents.

The interior was of course better with incognito and pouncey. I just said the tackles. An nfl team isn't going to give up on a 2nd year high round draft choice even if he's performing at a below average level early in his nfl career. I'm not saying he sucks to the point where he shouldn't be in the league or anything based on talent. I just don't think he's a good enough player to start on the majority of the offensive lines in the league. Some of my friends are dolphins fans and never liked the guy's play before this whole story broke.

The website Pro Football Focus ranked Long’s play as decidedly average in 2012 – ranking him 46th among 80 offensive tackles – but he was still significantly better than Martin, who ranked 76th. Long allowed four sacks and 10 quarterback pressures in 12 games, while Martin allowed six sacks and a whopping 47 pressures in 16 games. Martin, who admitted to teammates that he has to improve his upper-body strength this offseason, allowed more pressures in four games at left tackle (13) than Long did in 12.

PFF also graded the offensive line units for the season, and ranked the Dolphins 23rd out of 32. They named a “stud” and “dude” on every line, and the Dolphins’ dud was Martin.

“You spend a high pick on a rookie, then it’s likely at some point you’re going to want to see what you’ve got. Well, the Dolphins got a good long look at Jonathan Martin (-22.0) and they’ll know he’s got a long way to go before he becomes the player they drafted him to be.”
