The league wanted to squash this by having the to have some sort of meeting to work out their differences and make nice. His parents would have nothing to do with it, they want to make it into a national case.

Fact is that while some people think bullying isn't serious on a football team, its actually detrimental.  The owner are shelling out a millions of dollars to win the Superbowl.  They don't want some shithead causing trouble in the locker room....think Terrell Owens for example.

He extorted 15k? Get the hell out of here...and dude gave up the money? So, Icognito felt that he Could extort him, and it proved right, and because of this there is no respect that he has for Martin. Had Martin been like, "whatever" and they had a go in the locker room, regardless of who won, it would have been over.
