AJ, Got the same problem with SUNNY here in Las Vegas.

It's getting hot and this darn cat needs a haircut but he doesn't want one and he puts up a damn good fight when he sees the shears.

Will be reading the above more in detail to see what can be done to mellow out a very tuff cat when it comes to getting sheared.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Trim the nails first! Then, if possible, wait until s/he is asleep to start. I use professional grade Andis clippers. They are very quiet. And invest in ceramic blades, they cuts through the hair like it's not even there.

Use long strokes (no homo) head to tail and be willing to take it in chunks to let him/her cool down. It took me a full 24 hours to finish Henry.
