I've owned a small gym for almost 8 years now (personal trainer for @ 20). A new guy joined recently. 17 years old, short, literally 11" arms, a "fellow personal trainer" as he took a 4 day course online, etc, etc... I stepped from my office to find him walking around with no shirt on and checking his poses and strut in the mirrors. All I could visualize when I saw him was a mosquito floating downstream on his back, with a hard on, yelling OPEN THE DRAWBRIDGE, I'M GOING TO HIT!!

I put the kabosh on that crap really quickly  ;)

I'm being 100% serious; I'm the one who found that Jay video of him dropping his pants and he was working chest, not legs.  :-X

lol. Jay is a total mental case. Insecure as the day is long...

I've seen the bane mask in the gym. Dude wears all sorts of MMA gear but doesn't even do MMA to any extent. Looks like a dude Palumbo would sell bunk gear to.

I've seen this stupid shit at my dad's gym in NJ. A guy would come in with that bane mask on (oxygen restriction mask?) and do burpees in the squat rack  ::) (YES, in the squat rack).

Mimicking high altitude training for a few minutes a day really has no health benefits.

I started training around 1976 when the only folk in the gym were serious bodybuilders, powerlifters, weightlifters etc.
Posing in front on the mirror at the end of a workout was common and motivational to the beginners like me.
Took a few years for me to try it and when I had developed decent size I did it when I was home on leave into the late 80's.

I actually still train at the same gym again sometimes 39 years later and its now about 10 times bigger and full of boys and girls aged 16+ and average folk and old people and a very few serious bodybuilders and no one poses in front of the mirror these days.
It's a bit sad how mainstream our former underground sport has become.  :'(

You are disappointed that the gym is 10x bigger and FULL of clients instead of having a few folks in it?

Question:
Did those guys act like complete and annoying utter assholes? I bet not....They get a pass on that one.

Today's guys are way too fuckin' annoying to do that shit and be HUMBLE!!! Key word there and big reason why I just can't stand them.

I could be wrong, but just how I see it.

Saw that guy guest pose in 1989 awesome physique, saw him backstage dressed and he looked small, always impresses me when they have that ability.

It's a public funded town council operated gym my little chum.
Subsidised so that the bigger it gets and more subsidised members go the bigger the strain on the tax payer to fund it.
In some ways its great that training is now so widespread but in some ways I miss the days when training was a sordid underground activity
in a world populated by weirdo's. :D
Anyone born after 1970 just wouldn't understand.
