Transiting the gulf.....

Its not the issue of their boats having issues its the behavior of the sailors and then the apology. Did they talk to State and then told to apologize? If you watch the video what was shown was not a rescue of US sailors Vince it was taking US sailors hostage. You don't apologize for shit like this.....

From Hot Air...

This footage of the seizure of the crew and of the sailors in captivity violates the prohibition in the Geneva Conventions against exposing captured troops to “insults and public curiosity” and yet we’ve got one unnamed Obama advisor talking up how well the sailors were treated and the Secretary of State himself thanking Iran publicly. One fear universally echoed by skeptics of the Iran deal was that it would force the White House to bend over backwards to avoid even the perception of conflict with Iran. Any point of conflict, after all, would give opponents of the deal reason to howl that Obama should tear it up and reinstate sanctions. Worse, it might give Iran itself reason to walk away, leaving Obama’s biggest foreign-policy “achievement” — and his hope for rapprochement with Iran — in ashes. The White House, critics therefore predicted, would have no choice but to act as “Iran’s lawyer” in the court of public opinion, downplaying Iranian misdeeds in order to claim that diplomacy is working. How’s that prediction looking today? How did it look last week, when Iran objected to new U.S. sanctions over its ballistic missile program and the White House responded by quickly yanking them off the table?

Wait a second. Did they enter into Iranian waters or not?

If this had been done to us would you expect them to apologize for entering our waters?

I get the whole USA USA USA thing, but if they fucked up, they fucked up.

If the boats had an issue and they drifted into their waters...its an accident, no need to apologize. But watch the video..this wasn't some rescue as Kerry made it out be, it was pure jihadi propaganda...which we then fed into by apologizing. These people have killed US servicemen...friends of mine....they can all die screaming, yet Obama treats them better then our allies.

Dude. You are really unhinged.

They are the enemy yes?

If they entered our waters, would we not do the same thing?

This seems very appropriate considering we consider them the enemy. Obviously they see us the same way.

It seems this is what we would expect and what they would expect if they entered our waters as well.

I was wondering what the hell they were doing there in the first place...

Their travel path wasn't close to Iranian waters but once your boat stops and is adrift, those waves can carry you far and very fast.

Not my point.....they did what they had to. My point was Ol Barry and John Kerry...these people are the enemy and our elected officials don't seem to care and have allowed these people to get a nuke...plus billions to continue to kill us.

I am not saying I disagree on the general premise, but I thought we were talking about what happened to the guys that were in Iranian waters.

i'm confused here.

with the best technology in the world, we "accidentally" sail into Iran's waters?

LOL @ a boatload of iranian soldiers that "accidentally" sailed 10 miles off the coast of florida.  I highly doubt they'd be free in less than 24 hours lol.

probably what always happened... we like to get as close as we can, just like they do.  we like to flirt with those boundaries.  The belief it ever happens 'accidentally' in 2016 with GPS and all the other tools lol.

Congressman: Classified Details of Iran’s Treatment of U.S. Sailors Will Shock Nation
Lawmaker says new details being withheld by Obama administration
BY:  Adam Kredo
May 16, 2016

The classified details behind Iran’s treatment of several U.S. sailors who were captured by the Islamic Republic during a tense standoff earlier this year are likely to shock the nation, according to one member of the House Armed Services Committee, who disclosed to the Washington Free Beacon that these details are currently being withheld by the Obama administration.

Rep. Randy Forbes (R., Va.) told the Free Beacon in an interview that the Obama administration is still keeping details of the maritime incident under wraps. It could be a year or longer before the American public receives a full accounting of the incident, in which several U.S. sailors were abducted at gunpoint by the Iranian military.

“I’ve had a full classified briefing” from military officials, Forbes told the Free Beacon. “It could be as long as a year before we actually get that released.”

Details of the abduction are likely to start an uproar in the nation and call into question the Obama administration’s handling of the incident, which many experts say violated international and maritime law.

“I think that when the details actually come out, most Americans are going to be kind of taken aback by the entire incident, both how Iran handled it and how we handled it,” Forbes disclosed. “I think that’s going to be huge cause for concern for most Americans. That’s why I’ve encouraged members of Congress to get that briefing so they do know exactly what did take place.”

Forbes suggested that Iran’s treatment of the U.S. sailors—which included filming them crying and forcing them to apologize at gunpoint—may have been much worse than what has been publicly reported.

“I think clearly there were violations of international and maritime law that took place here,” Forbes said. “We [the United States] did almost nothing in response, in fact, to have Secretary [of State John] Kerry actually thank them for releasing our sailors after they way they captured them, I think was a slap in the sailors’ face.”

Forbes is pushing a new measure that would increase sanctions on Tehran for its treatment of the U.S. sailors in order to hold Iran accountable for its aggressive behavior.

Forbes’ measure outlines a range of Iranian aggressions against U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf region.

“Iranian military and paramilitary vessels have repeatedly behaved in a dangerous and unprofessional manner in close proximity to naval vessels and commercial shipping operating in internationally recognized maritime traffic lanes,” according to a copy of the measure viewed by the Free Beacon.

The list of provocations includes a December 2015 incident in which Iran conducted a “live firing exercise within 1,500 yards of the U.S. aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman.”

Iranian military aircraft buzzed the Truman and a French aircraft carrier in the region in January.

“The administration will not stand up and say this is just wrong,” Forbes said. “Instead of thanking them the administration should be standing up and saying its wrong.”

Congress must take action to hold Iran accountable for its aggressive military behavior, Forbes said.

“These kind of actions undermine stability in the Gulf,” he said. “And they raise the danger of inadvertent escalation.”

“I think it goes without saying that if that’s the case and they won’t stop that activity, all of that should at least be considered and debated as part of any Iran sanctions bill that may come up in the future.”

I support our troops 1000%.

But I don't believe "oops, we just happened to drift into your waters".   Technology is too good, measurements too accurate, communication too great.

And, imagine if a boatload of armed Iranians "accidentally" found their way into US waters off NYC.   They'd get a lot worse treatment than our dudes got... they'd be at GITMO or worse.  Everyone screaming "how dare they point weapons" - but we were in their waters by maritime law, right?  If Iranians float up to the statue of liberty, I'm guessing you're okay with guns being drawn on their punk asses, right?

I support our troops, but I don't believe they just accidentally wound up in enemy waters.  Iran = dicks and if you want to invade, by all means, your ass should enlist.  But this one is fishy, IMO.

great; perfect 'news story'
someone says they have 'shocking news'; and Fox reports it as a legit story.
THEN we find out it won't be released for over a year.
big deal; get shocked when it's a legit story- not before.
or, let's make up more rumors and report them as 'news'

It isn't "someone," it's a U.S. Congressman.

It's not a Fox News story.

That said, I do agree it's kinda silly to say there is some news that will upset a lot of us, but we won't hear it for a year.

I guess you are partially right; I first heard about it on Fox and Friends First and that's really not 'news'
