Nothing will ever be the same after November 2016. The people you thought you knew suddenly have issues with everything you believe in and vice versa. I wouldn't be surprised if the Trump administration's led to many breakups and divorces. 
Good point - and it has, I am sure. America gets politically divided along sharp lines now and then. This sure isn't the first time- we had a Civil War after all.
The big change is the internet and social media. People used to complain in private or at worst write a nasty letter to the editor. But that takes work. Now, everybody chimes in 24/7/365 so emotions can reach fever like pitches. I have had a number of friends shun be over my views and I have done the same. But, I try not to get into it anymore with friends because everyone loses.
On a forum like GetBig, people complain about everything so it's no big deal
