I change my routine about ever three months on average depending on where ane when I am plateauing.  After 3 months and I am still gaining on certain lifts, I will keep them until I stop.

I change my reps on a weekly basis (high reps one week, low reps another, medium the third)

I do roughly the same. When I'm more focused on all around symetry or bodybuilding i'll up the sets and reps. For the big body parts such as chest I'll do Incline Bb  followed by flat db's. Then then next week I reverse that. The 3rd week I load up the flat for 235 and pump out 10- maybe - and then run to the incline and then 185 on the incline for 10 x4. The weight varies on how successful my bulk phase has been but you get the idea. I do dropsets, rest-pause etc to try and break the plateau's. Therte is so much you can do. Good luck

IMO your muscles need time to adapt to the new lift in order to really get stronger and grow because of the different muscles they incorporate which you may not be currently using.  I'm not saying you can't by changing your lifts every week, but I think it is key to see the steady growth in your new lift so you get that extra motivation and confidence, but also to know when you plateau out and need to change things up again.
