Nope, you are wrong by a country mile, old man.  Here is the hook to the temple when they got into an exchange after AJ knocked Ruiz down.  Go back and watch highlights.  Joshua's leg go right after this shot.  Your standard inability to recover and regain coordination after the punch. He never truly recovered even rounds later.  The same thing can occur with an ear shot if the vestibular canal is jolted.

Can Ruiz land another perfect temple shot in the rematch, a 2nd lightening strick?  That's why this fight is Rahman vs Lennox 2.0 to me.  Joshua is going to wash this dude.

I can see the Rahman Lewis 2 scenario only it won't be as quick or as one sided.  I think AJ can definitely turn the tables but he's gonna have to work to do it.  AJ isn't as good as Lewis and Ruiz is probably better than Rahman.

Can you just imagine what the late, great Manny Steward would have been able to do with AJ?  Scary thought.

The counter left hook when throwing his straight right is basically the crux for him, he can basically Jab Ruiz all night from distance, I would bet his father didn't like the late replacement and the lack of sparring he had with similar fighters to prepare in saying that he had six weeks. I still think he can win the rematch, just needs to jab and move, and catch Ruiz coming in rather than go looking and reaching for him with the right hand.

Either man can win the rematch.
All ifs & butts - IF AJ keeps on the Move and Uses His Jab/ Height / Reach Advantage
IF Andy improves from where he is Now then that also Presents More Problems For AJ.

Will either of them Fight Wilder / Fury / Whyte in between as That could Really upset

The rematch is scheduled for November.  This is absolutely no way in hell Hearn will let Ruiz step in the ring with Wilder before Joshua has a chance to get the belts back.  Wilder will measure distance with the left and find a home for the right. Mexicans all across NA will be throwing up beans.  Ruiz is fully incapable of holding on to those belts for multiple defenses.

In boxing it doesn’t work like that if AJ goes too the body it will leave him MORE open too the left hook as it was he left himself open with the straight right hand because of  Ruiz fast hands and counter punching if Ruiz was fast enough countering a right hand he will have absolutely no trouble countering AJ shooting body shots.

Most people can not carry that type of weight the difference is Ruiz has fought his whole boxing career carry that type of bodyweight, he did a very very smart thing in regards too his opportunity 6 weeks ago he was presented...not panic drop weight drastically and Weaken himself just so he could “look good” for his big moment.

This is fighting not a how you look show Ruiz is obviously smart enough too understand that you fight @ a weight your 100% comfortable with hes gone the distance several times as a pro and MANY MORE times as a amateur he has consistently shown his weight can take him 12 hard rounds if need be.

As a general rule don’t fix something that isn’t broken, that weight he carry’s will catch up with him when he hits 33-35 years old as your timing, reflex’s, countering ability starts too wane bit bye bit couple that with wear n tear a lot of wars under your belt, age etc

For the time being he can get away with his weight but time catches up with everybody that fights and that weight for him down the line will be a issue @ the present it’s perfect for him

Great post and all good points. However, he did say on the Jimmy Kimmel show that he plans on being lighter with less bodyfat for the rematch.

I could see Andy giving my friend Dillian a hard fight & possibly winning - depends on Dillians gas tank.
Not decided how he’d fair against Wilder.
I don’t see him beating a Good Version of Fury - to big and awkward.

Potentially 2 or 3 good fights in there, Boxing politics & $’s will dictate what happens.

Thanks Andy for Causing A Great Upset & Shaking the Heavyweights division up.

Most of you have no idea because you arent tall n cant trow a punch.... Ruiz has a power and weight advantage , and perhaps speed. He is like a mexican mike tyson , hias defense leaves no openinings except jhis head..but mike had movement but ruiz got hands.   aj should be moving like a ninja but is slow like your typical lazy black who has no heart

Its a real thing having no heart too much net flix n chill fried chicken... Ruiz fights like hes greedy and hyper like he just got done eating a box of poptarts and is firing on all 12 cylanders

GTFOH, no one was talking about Ruiz before this fight.  The fight is nothing more than Lennox vs Rahmon 2.0 in which AJ will get his belts back in 6-7 months, just like Lennox did. Upsets happen.  The only course change would be if Haymon can get the WBA/WBC to do a unification between Wilder and Ruiz, in which Wilder will phucking decapitate him. Short reign for fat Mexican. Yes, fast hands but slow feet.  As long as AJ keeps him at range as Wilder would do the rematch is cake.

No it’s not any thing like Lewis vs Rahman  ::)
Lennox got caught and sparked from one Great Punch

AJ Got Put Down 4 Times - He wasn’t out and was up and able to continue on the
Last Knockdown - He didn’t want anymore & and showed no heart no desire to go on
That’s why the ref stopped the fight.
How long did AJ have from the moment he hit the floor on the last knockdown to when
The ref stopped the fight 24/25 seconds & showed no desire or inclination to continue.

His heart & desire are in question not his boxing ability.

He looked off from the time of his ring walk.  I will reserve judgement until after the rematch.  His resume' and body of work up until this point was too good to ignore.  He deserves a shot at redemption.  If he's right mentally and physically, he should be able to make the Ruiz rematch a relatively easy night of work.  Andy Ruiz is very good though.  If you re-watch the Parker fight, you can make a case that Ruiz could have been undefeated going into the Joshua fight.  Bob Arum won't admit it, but he never should have given up so quickly on Andy Ruiz.  Right now, he'd be able to control Ruiz and Fury and have them fight with the winner pretty much holding ALL the cards and calling ALL the shots.

Tom Schwarz is no world beater, but Tyson Fury looked on fucking point Saturday night.

Also, unless Luis Oritz is shot, Deontay Wilder has a very tough night of work ahead of him.
