Absolutely incorrect. Pippen was instrumental in helping Jordan get over the top and become a champion. It never would've happened without Scottie. Massively overrated??! You have no idea what you're talking about and you don't really know basketball. And he didn't 'shit' on Jordan. Pippen simply said Lebron was a better overall player, and he is as far as filling up a stat sheet goes. Jordan was the best pure scorer in NBA history. And to compare the two is fucking stupid in the first place. Lebron is a point forward SF/PF and Jordan is a 2 guard. Lebron is 6'8", 250 pounds and Jordan was 6'6" and 215 pounds. Apples and oranges.
Pippen was good enough to be a decoy for D that would otherwise go all to Jordan. Would have been a big star on any other team.
Pip was GREAT but he took time to develop, a luxury lottery players today arent often afforded, and that was after 4 years in college.
His game was consistent with or without Jordan, as his numbers the year before, during and after MJ's year away were mostly identical.
My favorite Scottie memory was when he refused to come off the bench because PJax wanted Pip to be a decoy on the game winning shot designed for Kukoc, which Toni made. Then to prove a point when Jordan came back Phil drew up a game winner for Kukoc again knowing Jordan would line up and play.
Funny stuff.
