Never in my life bought wor lass or any other lass owt for Valentine's Day and never will

Same. I would feel like a total Bellend if I brought a lass out on Valentine's Day. Many of my mates bring their lasses out on V-Day though. It makes me wonder how many people will end up with V.D. today. That V is for venereal.

Maybe a trip to the pub would be ok. Grandiose plans for the day seem like the act of someone who has a penchant for mincers.

I myself do celebrate though:

Haha going out to pubs and clubs on Valentine’s is better single (talking years back when uk pub and club scene was actually still a thing) all the slavery loved up cunts were usually elsewhere probably having some twatfull sit down meal, one of our mates his birthday is within a few days of valentines so we always went out when we all were young and single had some fucking great nights

A few years ago I met this hot chick a couple weeks before Valentine’s Day.  We went out maybe twice.  2 weeks later she was expecting some kind of cake turns dinner and gift. Wtf. I just met her. Where do these expectations come from?

My current GF doesn't like V Day, says it's corny.

I've dated a few girls who felt that way. Most girls take it way too seriously. A girl i dated 10 years ago would get all pissy if we didn't go out to some fancy restaurant for VD, it was so lame. Had to send flowers to work too so she could brag to all her co-workers she hated. ::) You had to reserve the places months in advance. Then when Steak and Knobber day comes around, they don't "feel" like cooking and lay on the couch. Fuck that.

This year my GF made lasagna and we drank wine while watching the snow storm outside. Stuck inside for a few days just trying not to annoy each other too much. ;D

Where do these expectations come from?

Feminist movies, books and TV shows.

Also watching too many episodes of the Bachelorette.
