I'll make this short and sweet because I know people have things to do... While walking at night, I fell and partially ruptured my right lower extensor retinaculum. Went to the doctor and I was given a very mild grade II diagnosis. Weeks went by and, while the treatment was indeed making the pain go away, my walking was compromised for months. I went to another doctor and he re-diagnosed the tear as a grade II (mild tear.) To make a long story short, my suspicion is that the tear was much, much worst than a grade II and that the treatment given was so mild it took me months to be able to walk. Due to this, I developed a case of sciatic nerve issue from all the compensating with the other leg. I've been going to rehabilitation for now over a year and it seems as though things are getting worst, not better. My suspicion is that the treatment needed to be able to walk like a normal person again is well beyond what my doctors and specialists my insurance company can provide. Problem is that I don't have the money to pay for it.
My only option now is to take the county to court and force them to pay for the treatment. Any advice as to how to proceed (the legal route) with this issue? Should I get a local lawyer to represent me?
