So explain how Julio Cesar Chavez Jr the former middle weight champ lost a 10 round boxing match to Anderson Silva?? Explain how Artur Lobov a journeyman ufc washout beat Paulie Maglianni a former junior welterweight boxing champion in bare knuckle boxing. Explain Holyfield losing to Belfort in a round? Explain more mma guys winning vs boxers at Triad

https://www.google.com/amp/s/mmasucka.com/2021/11/27/triad-combat-a-success-in-debut-show-as-team-mma-wins-the-night/amp/

You guys are saying it can’t be done it has been done many times

Dillian whyte is undefeated in Mma. Jarred big baby Miller was a kickboxing champion. These guys all have crossover skills nowadays when you go into a gym you are going to be exposed to a lot of different styles.

Silva beating Chavez surprised me (despite Chavez Jr never being really motivated as a fighter). Holyfield clearly has brain damage and should have never been in the ring.

Matt, I’ve seen Donald Curry knock out 200 lb sparring partners when he only weighed 145-150 lbs.

You have to see a good professional boxer throw a punch to believe the power they can generate.

Even a jab from a true pro power puncher is thrown violently. An MMA fighter with rudimentary boxing skills (regardless of size) has little chance against a good boxer in a boxing match.
I saw Curry fight when he was just a baby in Golden Gloves. His two brothers too.

Chavez went 12 rounds with Canelo he may not be his dad but he is a legit boxer and former belt holder. Meanwhile Anderson is 46 years old and handled him. While some mma guys can’t box some can. Was Holyfield that bad or did Vitor make him look that bad again Vitor always had fast hands. The Mma guys are a lot better than the guys most boxers box their first dozen fights. Have you seen the records of the guys Tommy fury has beaten? A random guy from the bar could fight better.

Frances puts people to sleep he is a dangerous fight for anyone even the “great” Tyson Fury he punches harder and is bigger and stronger than anyone Firy has fought. Klitschko was already old when he fought Fury. Wilder was overrated and now Tyson is overrated he has 2 good wins in his entire career and once was against an older champ who just couldn’t pull the trigger anymore. Meanwhile he gets knocked down by  cruiserweight Cunningham and 212lb Wilder. Frances is a full 265 after cutting weight and more athletic explosive than anyone Tyson has faced he is throwing hammers

Gentlemen,

Lets not be foolish.

Tyson has excellent boxing technique. Sometimes, when facing a moron like Wilder that relies only on his 1-punch power (most of the time), he fucks around. Tyson knows how to turn it on depending on his opponent and knows how to control the distance, cut corners, use his jab, go to the body and exhaust his opponents incredibly well. Tyson also has power behind his hands, lets not pretend that he just uses his reach and at times awkward style to win matches. He knocked Wilder out cold in their last fight.

Ngannou is not a boxer and in 99% of his fights has looked liked an amateur. Yes, he hits like a mack truck, but come on guys, it's a whole different game when you're in the ring with a guy that has been boxing since he was 10 years old and has a professional record of 31-0-1.

Ngannou is hoping to do this to get paid, the man is hungry. Tyson will get paid just as good as he does with most of his fights and it will mostly send a message to other MMA fighters.

Now, put a professional boxer in the octagon and the fates will be reversed of course.

Curry was an adult when I was still a kid, so he is significantly older than me. People used to say the guy fought over 400 amateur bouts and only lost a few. He fought out of Texas I think?

I remember his punches like it was yesterday, they sounded like a baseball bat hitting a watermelon.

A big difference from Stockton slap boxing.

Yeah Donald was from Ft worth. I entered Golden gloves when I was 14 and Donald was 2years younger and already had over a hundred fights. Now some of them smoker tournaments on the South side of town you might fight twice Thursday night then again Friday and if you were still winning fight again Saturday night so he piled up a lot of fights. Donald was a great fighter and along with his brother Bruce and “Mad dog” Gene hatcher and a few others Ft Worth became fight city for a few years.

It doesn’t always go that way champion boxers have beaten champion mma guys in mma

And

Champion mma guys have beaten champion boxers in boxing

Stop overthinking a fist fight. Take away the big glove blocks and it’s a lot more even than you think but the gloves and rule differences have been overcome many times and will be again.

A bum that couldn't knock someone out if he had knuckle dusters on, Paulie could box, but never could punch.

Yeah MMA guys always forget this one but want to talk about Randy Couture vs James Toney like that is the entire story of high level boxers fighting high level MMA guys in MMA. Mercer Silva went a lot differently that Toney Couture. Fuck 50 some year old Mercer even shot a godamn double leg after his overhand right and finished with ground and pound on a former 2 time UFC champ who had a size reach and youth advantage on him.

Donald Curry was a monster.  His peak was short compared to Leonard, Hearns and the other kings but on his best night he's hell on earth for any welterweight that ever lived.  Prime Cobra Curry runs Floyd out of the ring.
