That’s sorta the case in Australia but if you hold out long enough they eventually tell you there is another option - you pay an extra $60 per day. I can’t remember the exact numbers but this was a friends experience whose mother had terminal cancer but she would have had to live another ten to fifteen years to make that the worse option. She died 6 months in and the admin let slip they didn’t think she’s last 6 weeks. But they still pressured him to sell the fucken house. The nurses there were thankfully decent but the admin were about one small step lesser evil than child traffickers.
Western culture is better for individual freedoms, liberty, free press, capitalism etc. Eastern culture values elders better - they don't put their parents in nursing homes.
