Try a nap, if not drink a large cup of coffee and hit the weights. everytime this happens to me i hit the gym anyway and usually end up getting a very good workout.

one of my best workouts recently was when i felt like i was getting sick. i barely got 3 hours of sleep and was on benedryl all day and had an amazing chest workout...

once you hit your 3rd-4th set you will be awake...

These days are what it's all about! Sometimes you need to force yourself into it but you will always be happy you did...

last year i worked 14 hours a day, six days a week for 2 months...i still made it to the gym and destroyed weights like never before!

Alot of this game is in your head...stay determinded!

Jr., let me give you my personal experience in this situation (such as when I am up all night studying for a test).....the workout always sucks, and if you can't go 100% then don't go at all, rest up, and go the next day. JMO

I'm with Overload on this one...so much of the whole thing is mental and if you can get past that, then you should be fine. Sure, you're tired now, but just decide in your mind that for 1hr or however long you train that you're not going to be tired, so I say train.

Funny thing, I did chest yesterday, and last night every time I'd try to roll over in my sleep my chest would cramp up where the pec/delt tie in is. So I did not get much sleep at all last night and I have back training tonight as well. I could skip out on it and push it until tomorrow, but if you do that everytime you're a little tired or don't fell 100%, then you're going to miss a butt load of training days. Again, like Overload mentioned, these are the days that count...countless people hit the gym when they feel like it, and countless people look the same day in and day out.

For myself, I've gotten to where I never have a bad workout because of being tired or just a little under the wheather...mentally you just have to force that crap out. Now I will still have a bad day now and again, but this usually comes from other factors. Sometimes when I'm really trying to mix up my training, I might experiment with some lifts I don't normally do, or mix up the order in a new way that ends up being less efficient. The biggest workout killer though is when there is some turd bucket who won't leave you alone and even talks when you're doing your set.

There is a difference between feeling unmotivated and a little tired and exhaustion. You have to make a judgement call, I've had some great workouts when I thought was tired, it turned out all I needed was to actually step in the gym. But other times I thought I would just "work through it" and ended up having terrible workouts, regreting coming to the gym in the first place. One thing I do know for sure, when I am really exhausted and take an extra day off, the next day I am guaranteed to have a great workout. Being able to read your body is one of the most important things to master, I have been trying to do it for the past eight months and should have been doing it much sooner.

ok guys I came home from work and slept for an hour and half...I got up had some coffee and ate my preworkout meal and went and did back. It worked out beautifully tomorrow is an off day so if the coffee doesn't let me sleep im not too worried. the Zma and melatonin should help. Getbig will put me to sleep. take care guys.

you know it! I gotchya man. thanks for the motivation.

when i am at less than 100% i use very short rests between sets... make it super intense and you will get through it quicker and still make gains

Hey Jr., may aswell take the next week off. You'll need rest time to recover from the lack of sleep... LOL kidding!

Great work staying motivated. I agree with Yev33. For me, I'm taking 2 weeks off from tomorrow to sort out my eating plan. It has to be done, and 2 weeks is nothing in the long run. Like Yev, I should of done it MUCH sooner. Great to see you so pumped up, Yates. That's what it's all about.
