Whether I can kick Franklin's ass or not is irrelevant.

That doesn't change the fact that he's overrated and got beat by someone far more skilled.

Stop being such fan boys.

i figure that rich will get a rematch in a few fights. my prediction is that he will come back faster and stronger and run through them and take his belt back. believe me rich will be improved

Rich will not come back.

He will never be the champion again. He's an average fighter in the grand scheme of things.

He can't even throw a kick. I saw him performing a roundhouse with nothing behind it. You're supposed to turn your body into the kick. It's basic. I learned how to kick properly in karate class. You would think a champion would know this. lol. The only people I see that throw kicks right are Cro cop, Silva, Bas, GSP, and a select few others. His punching is sub-par too. Any boxer in his weight class would easily knock him out in a slugging match.

This marks a new era in the UFC, similar to the changes in MMA created by the Gracies(everyone understanding the importance of groundfighting). The likes of Rich Franklin will be relegated to the mid-bottom card.

come on man..what are you talking about? he can't throw a kick.... give the man credit he is a former champion of the world. i have seen kick peoples heads off. as an amatuer he knocked a guy out and broke his jaw in 30secs. with a kick. you haven't seen all of rich's fights by watching the ufc. rich is a great fighter...one of the best.

Rich is a part of the new breed MMA fighters without any one strong base.  He is a good wrestler, decent stand up, decent clinch game, and purple/brown jits game.  He is a freak athlete with incredible physical attributes.  He ran up against a world class striker with a great clinch game.  Anyone who thinks Rich doesn't deserve to be where he is at is clueless.  If he does fight Anderson again, he better work his Greco and he better call Mark Delgrati.

Perhaps.

I just saw one fight in the UFC featuring him throwing a couple kicks and it looked like a weak snap kick with absolutely no power. He was pretty exhausted though so that could be why. He's a great athlete, but not a great fighter imo. There are talented people coming in now.

Those fighters on tough are absolutely horrible relatively speaking.
UFC has become saturated with amateurs. The really accomplished martial artist (like Bass Rutten) are virtually nonexistant in the UFC.

Rich will come back and win a couple of fights...maybe even get a rematch, but I dont think he will ever get his confidence back.  The looks on his face when he took that beating says everything.  I expect he will come back gun shy.

NO. he's gonna give him a soup can for his first fight to make Rich look a little better then what he did against silva.. So does that mean much no... do i think rich will fair pretty good for a while. Yes... Do i see him winning his belt back anytime soon..... Hell NO!!!!!!!! Hell will freeze over before that happens... Rich doesnt get his belt back anytime in 2007... and when that happens you can hear me tell you loud and clear I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!

you think dana takes care of rich..NO! if he did he wouldn't have put rich against anderson after he injuried himself so bad in his last fight. he had broke his hand and foot. he had to have pins put in his hand and he had to train around the injuries after his time off to heal. so in a sense he was thrown to the lion. not making excuses for him because he needs none. he is great fighter. end of story.

Rich is a good fighter, but Silva is a great fighter.  I don't see Rich ever gettin the belt back as long as Silva has it.  I think Rich has to fight Swick next.  I don't think Swick will beat him, but I bet this fight goes at least into the 3rd round.

I could see Mike k.o'ing Rich in the first to be honest.
