Change in training regime...
« on: December 19, 2006, 03:01:05 PM »
I was thinking about splitting my workout over six consecutive days and taking only 1 day of rest a week, but id like some opinions and suggestions from blokes that know what their talking about
It goes something like this:
Monday:Chest (flat, incline bench press and dumbell flyes)
Tuesday:Triceps(skull crushers, cable pulldowns, and another exercise i dont know the name off, really effective though)
wednesday:shoulders, forearms
Thursday:Biceps(concentration curls, barbell curls, dumbell hammer raises)
Friday:Legs,abs
Saturday:Back

Critisicm is welcome, thanks ;D

i think both triceps and biceps are so small musclegroups that they dont deserve their own special days, unless, you treat those days as semi-rest days or something like that.
i would probably do both triceps and biceps on the same day instead, maybe do supersetting back and forth between triceps and biceps. this would give you either an extra day of rest per week, or squeeze the number of training days so in a year you would get more days of actual training = faster results.
it can be a pretty cool feeling and visual to work your whole arms on one day, for pump etc.

train arm togather or another larger bodypart. i think just going to the gym and just doing bis or tris alone is a waste of time. six days a week is a tall order for anyone... i think that you should let your body rest more the just one day a week... I would also,  switch around your split to  more larger bodyparts  first in the week then work your way down to the smaller....

i would totally ditch that routine. its not set up very well. your doing chest, then next day your doing tris,,thats overkill. still with basic compounds. ex. for tri's- do cg bench, dips. friday your doing legs, then next day your doing back. if your doing squats, and deads its again, overkill

if its hell or high water set on training six days.. heres a better six day split

mon quads/hams
tue chest/calves
wed back/abs
thu shoulders/traps
fri arms
sat random touch pup (rotate a bodypart to touch up on. supersets and some highter volume. to pump extra blood in to the muscle)
