I train Delts after Back day...I went a little nutty in my back workout-

So my delts hurt and I didnt go to the gym. Gonna go tomorrow and do em with hammies (i train hammies on their own)...any of you have the same thing happen when you go heavy on back day?

Unless he's just talking about the rear head of the delts, there's something wrong with his back workout.

I don't use any exercises for rear delts on shoulder day caus they get enough work from my back workout.

I was thinking the same thing, if your front delts are sore from a back workout you may want to check your form

He should check his form even if his rear delts are sore. Unless he is confusing rear delts with upper back.

SF is on the right track.
What part(s) of your delts are sore?
And what exercises are you doing?

For example, when doing bent over rows, pulling the bar too high up (to the chest) often recruits more rear delt action. To correct this, aim for pulling the bar somewhere between the naval and sternum. This will use more back/lat fibers.

If other parts of your shoulder hurt, then…

Please provide us with more information.

This only happens when i go really heavy (for me) im sure its because shoulders come into play bc of the weight..its just weird bc i know it happens from heavy chest work but on occasion back..

Lat pull downs
Hammer strength rows
Bent over barbell rows 185, 225, 275. (perfect form, bent over near parallel)
Dumbell rows - 130, 140, 150  10-15 reps
Close grip pull downs

Usually I end with high rep deadlift, the heaviest weight i use is 275 and just do as many reps as i can for 3 sets. Im  a firm believer when dieted down doing deads like this will give me good lower back and overall polishing of hammies etc..

Yes I know its weird..did back on Wed, took off thursday and went in today friday i ended up doing delts with my hammies..

db pullover 2sets 6-10 reps
barbell row 2 sets 6-10 reps

Check the seat position on your Hammer Strength rows, too low and you're pulling with upper back/rear delts ;)
