Oh brother, there's a lot of tough guys in this thread all boasting about their "bleeding shins" from deadlifts.  ::)

I've been training for 15 years in many gyms in that time and haven't seen a single graze.

go to a powerlifting meet and you'll see plenty of them.

IPF has a rule of knee high socks for this reason. They don't want blood on the bar or platform.

if u care about how ur shins look day to day, while the bruises are still purple and green, or the cuts are still red with hardened blood, then wear shin protectors. if not, good luck to u.

Just to make it clear....i love deadlifts and will not stop doing. I am just curious on what you guys do to reduce the bruising/scaring/BLEEDING of shins from deadlifts.

And yes, i started deadlifting only about 10months ago. Peace
