I usually give Davey a pass, he feels the need to lash out. Anger has consumed him to point where rational thought is no longer possible.

You can't argue with someone that feels school is a waste of time.  He has mentioned losing his mother a long time ago. I feel that event has severly altered him and leaves him in a state of need.  So much so that he thrown himself into the powerlifting world.  He knows every lift for the past 10 years...Davey, what was the raw bench record from 1999?

It doesn't make sense to go back and forth with him, this does more harm than good to him...usually after a couple of "exchanges" I usually change topic because I know that he is probably at home shoveling twinkies and chocolate milk down his throat endlessly trying to harm himself.

In person he is probably a decent chap, it just when he is alone that the inner demons starts talking to him.  Getbig is his savior...I have no quarrel with you Dave

hahahhaa, sounds like a couple of my posts got to you, i never said school was a waste of time, i said 99.9999 percent of the people i've known older than 24 who are still in school are losers and fucckups who messed around for years and now at age 30 are trying to get serious with their life.

I am finishing my bachelors up.. Taking 17 credits this semester, yet I'm here blasting away when I should be at the library or something.  ;D Actually, the semester just started, but 17 is a heavy load especially with my poor work ethic.

Education is a wondeful thing. Maybe Dave has found sucess another way, so good for him. It's all about whatever works for you. My brother does well and he never finished school.

cool Camel..lol, I am one of those that wasted a few years  :P

my only advice to you is to stay in school and get a graduate degree as well

you should even look into a study abroad program

My girl did a program where she studied at the university of Ghana for a couple of months
Here comes the money shot

i didn't say school was a waste of time, anyone who says that is a moron, i was talking to a guy one time that i worked with and he was talking about another one of our co workers who was still fuccking around at the local community college at age 32 talking about what he was going to do and we both agreed that if you're still in school at age 32 you're not gonna do shit.

way off base.  Like i said i graduated at 29 from law school.  One lady that was in my class was in her late 50's.  I give her so much respect for doing law school at that age.

I think age is irrelevant.

some ppl also have to work when younger and can't afford schooling.

People who usually fuck around with community colleges aren't serious. Community colleges are always a waste of time unless you can transfer out to something better, which doesn't happen for most who bother with community colleges.

Go to a decent 4 year school and put up the money and the effort. Only thing is that screwing up isn't an option.

Even learning specific trades = some kind of education. Learning anything new, or restocking old knowledge is always a good thing. People can take your money, titles, and other things, but they can never take away your mind. It's a wonderful thing.

better than being 32 and never getting any kind of higher education. i have a lot more respect for a 32 year old who bites the bullet and steps into class with a bunch of 18 year old kids and finally tries to better himself than i do someone who thinks if you're 25 and still don't have a degree it's time to hang up the towel.

you'd be surprised how many over-30's i see in my classes out here. my stepdad went to school when he was about 30 or so, taking classes at night while working a full time job. now he earns a shit ton more than he did when i was a little kid, and moved the family from an apartment in a shitty area of town into our own house in a nice area of the suburbs.

frankly if you're 18 and fucking around at a community college then chances are you've got even less direction than someone who's 32 and doing it, because at least the 32 year old has a job.
