so i want to start a lifting routine...
« on: April 18, 2008, 07:53:53 AM »
with the most basic of lifts. I've been working out in a typical 2 muscle or 1 muscle a day fashion for well over a year now, but i need something new.
I'm thinking dead lifts, squats, pullups/chinups, flat and incline bench, military press.
Do you think these are some good ideas for lifts? any others you'd add or take out? what about a good program?
any input is greatly appreciated, you guys know more then me!

These are pretty good examples using the exercises you mentioned.  They are both 5x5 articles.  Enjoy.

All I can really give in the way of my own input is don't let the ego tell you that you need to do 30 sets of arms, chest, etc to get big.  The lifts you mentioned are great and if you get strong on them, you will grow.  A 5x5 is a good program but if you want some other good rep ranges let me know.

exactly what I thought / figured out. It's not always about strict amounts of sets and things. I'll look into those links, thanks a lot man.
