We did a physical assessment for a Fire department in Indiana once.  There was some change in the insurance for the department.  They were all given a graded exercise test, ECG, Echocardiogram, blood work, and typical physician's inspection.  3 or 4 of them weren't able to complete the treadmill test because they exceeded the weight limit of 375lbs.....

I know they had daily 5 mile runs for his academy.  I would certainly have trouble with those. 
I don't see his size having many advantages, but I don't think he's had much trouble with the endurance tasks.

So I guess those epic 330-lbs off-season bulks are out of the question for Steve for the time being, thank goodness

Damn, a bodybuilder with a serious work ethic and a real job! What gives?! All those guys who can't work normal jobs because it cuts into their training and tanning and eating need to hear this!!!

I'm not sure what kind of fitness requirements the fire departments would have, and I don't know if you can answer this Justin, but is being a superheavyweight bodybuilder (270, 280 lbs +) an impediment at all in his line of work? Do they have to run sprints or climb ladders in under 10 seconds or something?

Havent seen me lately have you? When you go up to 290-300 and hang there for awhile at an offseason training weight, it allows you to diet down to a lean 260lbs (presently)
Keep plugging away there champ, you'll get over that 175lb barrier in no time.
