Now this is what I'm talking about. I like this kind of discussion. Who's better, who was bigger, who's fatter, who's flatter, who woulda, shoulda, coulda........... It's all good. Anyway, I guess I'll throw my two cents in. IMHO I believe that Ronnie Coleman has to get the edge over Dorian. That's not taking anything away from Dorian because obviously he is a great Champion and one of the top bodybuilders of all times. For me it's simple, I'm sure I would much rather aspire to look like Ronnie at his best than to look like Dorian at his. It will do me no good to go into further detail on whose bi's were bigger, who was wider, whose posing trunks were prettier, etc...... Both champions have great qualities and obviously a flaw or two somewhere. It's all based on opinion and that's that. Why do you think the whole concept of bodybuilding competitions are so controversial. It's because the judging is based on opinion and the idea of what is appealing changes from competition to competition. Personally, I'm more impressed by the aesthetic bodybuilder than I am by the mass monsters. Gave me a lot of hope when Dexter pullled out the O this year. Maybe the tide is turning away from pure bulk and size at the expense of aesthetics and lines. I hope so.
It's great to hear others opinions on the subject but you know what they say, "Opinions are like A$$holes. Everybody has one!"
Oh yeah, trying to compare who would have won by looking at the scorecards from various years is a complete waist of time. Might be good in theory but anyone who has followed bodybuilding (competition wise) for any amount of time should know what I mean.
