ok experts,,,,,Haney; small legs, small arms, no calves, good back, good chest, good back.........

Yates; huge legs, poor arms (post 93), best calves, ok chest, best back..

So the awsome one beats yates with his chest, what about the rest of him ?, come on be real........

Wow, a black guy choosing Ronnie and Haney over Dorian...why am I not surprised? Haney at his best might defeat Dorian, but not Ronnie.

Haney defeated Yates, head-to-head, in 1991. It doesn't get any more "real" than that. At the same size, Haney beats Yates, due to better proportions and V-Taper.

The only way Yates could defeat Haney, is if he were significantly bigger. But, you make the strange assumption that Haney could not super-size himself the way that Yates did. If a 240-lb Haney can beat a 240-lb Yates, it's safe to say that a 257-lb Haney could defeat a 257-lb Yates.

That was Yates first Olympia and he almost beat Haney, they werent the same size either. Haney being 7-8 pounds heavier

Yates by a mile, they are almost in 2 separate leagues

Almost beat Haney? Yates beat Haney in one round; Haney won the rest. And, even though he probably said this in jest, Haney finally learned how to peak.

Both were around 240 lbs. If I remember correctly from the ESPN video, Haney was at 241, Yates at 239.

Yates cannot match Haney's shape and proportion. Yates could only defeat Haney on size; again that's under the gross assumption that Haney could not super-size himself as Yates did. At the same bodyweight, Haney trumps Yates.

Haney and Yates were within a pound of one another at the O in '92.

Yes, he lost one round so it was by no means a dominant victory.

And about Haney blowing up in size that is pure speculation on your part, do you really think that a 241 Haney (he was 248 in reality) would of added 16lbs of muscle in the next 2 years? Thats ridiculous.
We can only compare physiques on what they purely brought to the stage, Dorian was 1-2 inches shorter, over 10lbs heavier and in better condition. Dorian surpassed Haney.

Ummmm....aren't there four rounds? If there are four rounds and Yates won one of them, who won the other three?

Listen to what you just said!!! A 241-lb Haney couldn't add 16 lbs of muscle in two years. But, a 239-lb Yates can? What sense does that make? Age isn't a factor, as Haney was just 3 years older than Yates.

Both Haney and Yates are listed at 5'11". I compare them, based on what they brought to the stage, particularly when they faced each other in '91. I give Haney the edge.

Your assumption that Haney could not do what Yates is rather unfounded. As I said, Yates can only beat Haney if he's bigger (and there's no guarantee that he could do that). At the same size (as they were in '91), Haney tops Yates: Better proportions, symmetry, and V-taper.

there were four rounds , Muscularity round , Symmetry round and the two posing rounds , the meat & potatoes for any contest is the pre-judging ( muscularity & symmetry rounds ) 99% of the time the contest is decided here the night show ( posing rounds ) was mearly a formality

Dorian beat Haney in the muscularity round despite being 10 pounds lighter , Haney was 249 pounds and Yates 239 pounds

Adding the size is one thing making sure that size hard dense muscle is another , Haney himself said he competed at 257 pounds and was very soft at that weight , Dorian could carry more muscle while his density & dryness wouldn't be negatively effected

Lee is 5'11" Dorian is listed at 5'10" 1/2 , Haney was the clear winner in 1991 but what Yates did was remarkable in his first Olympia ( only his 3rd pro show ) he managed to defeat the untouchable Lee Haney in his bread & butter the muscularity rounds that speaks volumes and the writing was on the wall

It's not unfounded , in fact Haney admitted that at heavier weights he became soft , Dorian would maintain his insane conditioning for very high bodyweights . you're also comparing Dorian in his forst Olympia to a seasoned vet who was arguably at his personal all-time best and he still lost the muscularity round .

If Dorian showed up in the shape he was in 1992 and Haney the exact same shape he was in 1991 I think Haney would have beat him again , barely , Dorian by 1993 would have left Haney for dead no doubts about it

Haney = smart man , retired undefeated went out on top and retied at the best he ever looked . he had nothing to gain by competing again.

huh? You dont think it was a close contest? Haney won but both men werent far apart.

Difference is Haney had been competing on the Olympia stage for 9 years, this was Dorian's first. Haney was never going to compete at a body weight of 260's and be in the same condition that Dorian was in, there was no evidence to suggest this looking back on Haney's career. Seldom does a bodybuilder add so much significant muscle in a short period of time like Yates did, thats why it was such a shock.
You cant expect Haney (who probably added over 10lbs of lean mass from his first Olympia to his last) to add 16lbs in a time scale of 2 years.

Both Haney and Yates are listed at 5'11". I compare them, based on what they brought to the stage, particularly when they faced each other in '91. I give Haney the edge.

Err no, Dorian was never 5'11. He was at best 5'10. This isnt even an issue, just watch the tapes and comparisons. Haney looked an inch taller than Yates.

Face it, he beat a greene Yates who wasnt near his prime. Based on visuals Dorian 93/5 beats Haney.
