ive got a friend, not a lifter, but he had been 280+ for a long time.  Very tall though, about 6'4.  He wanted to lose the weight and decided to do that diet and take the injections.  He called me and told me about it, and I warned that hte injections could have side effects, but I really didnt know too much about it.  He decided to do it and lost about 65 lbs in 6 months I think.?

Anyways, the next time I saw him he looked like a different person.  He was not in bbing shape, but had lost the fat and was thin in the face and in the stomach.  The injections are very expensive, and I think he took half doses, so he could use them again later.  His Mom also did the same thing and I think has lost a great deal of weight as well.

One thing to note though.  I believe the crazy diet this guy has them do has a lot to do with the weight loss.  They are on a very low carb diet and eating only organic.  In certain phases if you dont lose weight you eat only 5 apples that day.  My buddy had eaten a lot of apples to get where he was.

The shots will not produce the results without doing the diet.  But for those who are very overweight, taking the hormones might be a healthier choice than staying overweight.  You kinda gotta weigh the pros and cons of each.

i've came across loads of pics on line, before and after shots - all certainly improve.

like you say any low calorie diet will make you lose weight - but the hcg seems to target the stubborn fat cells rather than subq etc.

it seems interesting, and has certainly given me some food for thought - pardon the pun.

Just go running, you lazy bastard.

it raises your metabolism as if you were preg. so you burn an insane amount of cal just doing normal stuff

You will lose weight on any 'VLCD.'  I could see the HCG being useful to maintain a strong androgen level but it is a hormone and should be thought of as such.  Of course, you won't make many sales if you advertise it that way.  Claims that it is a cure-all or that it has effects which have not been observed make me mistrustful of its pushers.  It 'targets stubborn fat' and magically 'raises metabolism.'  These are empty claims imo.

Same old story of people cashing in on obesity.  HCG is dirt cheap.  So how much are these guys charging to tell you to eat less, I wonder?

do you really need steroids to build a bit of muscle ?  ;D

Hmmm I don't know if I should be offended that you call me a liar and accuse me of juicing or if I should take that as a compliment which is back-handed.

But to answer the question, No you don't - anyone who is juicing without having any intention of competing is just being stupid, even though the choice is their's to make.

Of course it works.  They're not eating anything.

If people want to use it then go for it, but I think it's a crappy thing for doctors to exploit their patient's ignorance.

its a restricted diet, yes but what it does is keeps your BMR high where as in a  normal diet your BMR will adjust to a lower level and your loses will stagnate, but with this your BMR stays high to keep burning fat

If you mean it will help maintain muscle because it regulates testosterone production, then yes, but I don't know of any HCG effects on thyroid hormones or how it would target one kind of fat over another, why someone wouldn't have cravings while starving, why they would have less arguments with their family, etc...

An ethical doc would tell his patients to eat nutritionally beneficial, calorie sparse foods and exercise regularly, but no one wants to hear that.  People think they have to take extreme measures, use shots or pills, endure massive deprivation, eat only 5 apples all day, etc.

lol if you think that most doc's practice in an "ethical" manor than you have another thing coming. 99% of overweight or obese patients are on a pill NOT on a regimented diet prescribed by their dr.

Yep.  Got fat from one industry shoving crap down their gullets, then get shunted off to the next industry to help them with 'their' problem.  Bought & sold.

It's a gimmick. Not to refute science, but published peer reviewed studies aren't the be all end all. There are tons of flaws in millions of fucked up studies. Look at all the fat douchers on YouTube communities doing the "HCG diet" too HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Bunch of retarded fat asses who tried nothing and ran out of ideas.

Just eat sensibly and get in a bit of exercise each day. People often think that the most eccentric, outlandish ideas are the only ones that work. People are too quick to deviate from the simple route... it's all about consistency. You can eat take out every day, fuck counting calories and eye ball the food you eat and lose an appreciable amount of fat with little to no effort.

I do eat clean but when I'm lazy, I'll eat McDicks, junk food, skip cardio, etc and I stay at a reasonable level of bodyfat. I am well conditioned but at the same time, if I slack off it's not the end of the world because I'm otherwise consistent. When I see people who do NO aerobic or anaerobic activity, follow NO dietary structure and have out NO effort into losing fat it makes me roll my eyes in disgust. I'm not elitist or anything, I'm not a brainiac, but it doesn't take genius to know that a bit of hard work and consistency are the key to changing your disgustingly fat, slothful composition to something that isn't vomit inducing.

Female friend of mine did it and also lost a considerable amount of weight on it!
I think she gained back a few pounds in the meantime though after she stopped to do it.
