Maybe not great for bodybuilders, but damn cool for normal people who want good core/balance/flexibility in their joints and general health shit like that.

risk of injury far outweighs the advantages of that stupid shit.

i'd rather do 135 for 5 on the ground than 115 for 3 while "balancing".

Incredible ability, granted. Just don't see the practicality though. The intro of the Swiss ball was a great addition to the gym, but some people just take it too far (love the squatting box-squat style on the ball too).

I surf. I have seen "Some" surfers do this but a very small amount actually squat while on a exercise ball.

That's what I thought, but a friend of mine is big into sports and convinced me that some sports would benefit from that kind of mastery over your coordination and connected muscle groups. I mean I would prefer to do more weight and not fall over, but my functional strength and awareness doesn't necessarily benefit particularly from it. That guy looked less likely to injure himself than the guys in Flex magazine lifting 5+ plates. Just ask JP Fux.

the only movement that squating on an excercise ball would benefit you in doing is....squating on an excercise ball.
