you forgot slowly working your way to banging your female clients and then still making them pay you to train them and then they're like "but I thought we were dating?" question when you charge them.....they still pay though

Yeah, you're right. I've been out of the game for many years. I was bound to forget a few things, like rolling up your shirt sleeves and using your arms as a sales tool:

bro--I just bit the bullet and said "Fuck it" and just started wearing my short sleeve shirts in a medium instead of doing the shirt sleeve roll

in addition, using 2 benches for pushups?!- thats inconsiderate also. there is absolutely no advantage, and in fact it requires more setup time, put away time and benches arent for shoes to be on them.

At first glance, I thought it was two benches, as well, but on closer inspection, it's two Dumbbells set up vertically. Stuff like that is what a trainer does to appear innovative. I'm reminded of the classic "Guy doing squats on the stability ball" pic.

If someone is making an honest living, who really cares what they do.

For all anyone knows, maybe Jim makes $100K plus per year running execs through their "paces"

Coach,

Do you think this is an appropriate exercise for a 46 year old man, in this case, Shane?

IMO, there's no reason to put his wrists in a bent back position, risking nerve and tendon strain, for marginal at best benefits when simple bench dumbbell presses would allow Shane to keep his wrists in a neutral position.

Ah, not an exercise choice I would do but if it works, it works. 46 isn't old. He's just fine. After all, he's going into a ring getting slammed, thrown around and what not. lol

Good point.

Are you at all jealous that you are being left out of the WWE action?

There are several wrestlers currently injured, maybe you can train one of them during their rehab.

No. That's why I only train one fighter. I could make a great living training just fighters but not as a scam like Dolce. I trained a lot of fighters in the past but I'm pretty much done with them.

Btw, for Getbig's aspiring trainers, Jim commits a Trainer Faux Pas in the clip: He puts his hands in his pockets.

Doing this tips off that you're bored out of your mind and can't wait for the hour to end.

What you want to do is pretend that the set of push ups taking place in front of you is the most important thing in the world. Keeping your hands active, by occasionally clapping, or making a fist to emphasize the seriousness of the situation, helps create this illusion. ;)

Top trainers count reps with fingers, as shown countless times in flex

Apparently, counting reps is a dated practice. Today's trainers seem to opt for verbal cues, relying heavily on the word, "Core."

"Keep that Core tight!"

"Maintain that Core!"

ah yes, i missed that.

either way, its still a regular pushup being made awkward, using dumbells as a prop and a bench for his shoes.

one out of balance move and the dumb bell falls, broken wrist and a smashed tooth.

there is absolutely no benefit of doing it this way.

A Trainer always wants to present himself as having built the better mousetrap.  Including numerous wacky exercises in the routine is a way to achieve this effect.

If Jim were to take your advice, he'd run the risk of Shane asking himself, "Why am I paying this guy to watch me do push ups?"

A good trainer yells the rep count aloud so that everyone in the gym knows exactly what rep you're on. He/she will also videotape what your doing and put it on Instagram...

maybe he had an itch on his nuts

That he had to scratch with both hands?

Even if this were the case, a Trainer needs to be an Alpha at all times. You can't afford to let a client see you engaged in a Beta activity such as scratching one's ballsack.

To Jim's credit, he quickly took his hands out of his pockets when he realized his mistake.

Scratching one's nuts whenever you want to is straight up alpha.

But I will defer to _aj_ on this one for the correct answer.

We're going to have to agree to disagree. Scratching your balls infers that your balls itch.

Itchy balls are a sign of weakness and imperfection, much like having a zit. A Trainer needs to create the aura that he's above common afflictions.

That said, I too will defer to AJ.

Another note to aspiring Trainers. The Personal Training market is not very large. There aren't that many suckers, I mean clients, to around. So, you always want to make it seem as though you're the only one who knows what he's doing and every other Trainer is incompetent.

Allow me to demonstrate:

Ah, not an exercise choice I would do but if it works, it works. 46 isn't old. He's just fine. After all, he's going into a ring getting slammed, thrown around and what not. lol

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about! Where did you get your Certification, Walmart?
