Agreed - GTA VC was easily my favorite of the series. III was great because it revolutionized the gameplay, and they combined all the greatness into VC.
SA was so big I lost interest mid way through when I got an XBox. I tried IV, but it was basically all the same stuff as it used to be, with no real progression in controls, graphics and gameplay.
The thing about VC was that it combined Goodfellas, Carlito's Way, Scarface, Miami Vice, the absolute best of 80's music and 80's culture, all into one great game.
SA was fun just for the violence aspect. It was also very stereotypical, and funny as hell. But it was way too big.
The colors and texture were great as was the set of the game.
I liked GTA4 a lot, but the missions to me were boring and I thought the russian thing was a bit blah. It would have been better to stick with the regular mafia theme and bread and butter GTA stuff.
In the end VC is still my fav.
I mean come on, what game is better than this?
