no, it was the founder of one of the karate schools. he could kill a bull with one punch, he actually toured the world fighting anyone who dared. he beat everyone. even george foreman refused to fight him.
apparently he used to practice his punches by punching trees, then rocks. ![Undecided :-\](http://www.getbig.com/boards/Smileys/classic/undecided.gif)
his name escapes me.
Fat is right on this one. Bruce Lee only had one teacher, Yip Man, who was a skinny old man and wouldn't have a prayer with a bull. Neither would Bruce Lee, my boyhood hero. The person Fat is referring to was a real bull, Masutatsu (Mas) Oyama, the founder of Kyokushinkai Karate. He grew up during the era when Japan was a brutal, militaristic and imperialist society. The current generation have no idea how fierce the Japanese people were until we bombed them into oblivion and remade them into an almost pacifist culture. We wrote their constitution and forbade them from having a military at the time.
Mas, like the warriors of that time, still lived by the Samurai code and were hardcore to the extreme. The things they would willing put themselves through would break the will of the average Westerner just by watching.
He did indeed kill bulls with his bare hands and of the 50 or so that he battled 3 of them were killed with a single strike. But it's not like he just jumped into the arena and started to throw hands with a bull. He made them chase him around until they were practically limp from exhaustion. Then he went in for the kill.
Contrary to popular belief, Mas was Korean and was born in Korea during the Japanese occupation. But he did live most of his life in Japan and tried to pass himself off as a Japanese.
Not many of these guys are around anymore.
