Glad i didn't stay up/wake up early to watch it.

I saw a Carwin fight on a highlight show last night and was unimpressed. He got the knockout, but he seemed to struggle aside from the stand up. After seeing that i didn't feel he'd beat Lesnar.

Carwin had the chance to finish him but he gassed and couldn't put the final nail in the coffin. Brock took a pounding well and from the way he recovered it's clear the fight shouldn't have been stopped.

I'm neither a Brock-hater or a guy. The guy's not bad, getting better maybe but he's been beaten before and he'll get beaten again.

big strong guy, well conditioned for sure

But like most MMA fighters they dont have good chins, the moment he was hit by that uppercut he got rocked and backed up.
Not to mention his boxing/striking skills(since they dont seem to use much of their legs) are terrible

Brock is a one dimensional fighter

How much time have you ever spent in the mat? I'm going to guess zero. You have no idea what really fatigue and physical exhaustion is like.
x2 people who have never stepped on a mat should not be allowed to watch mma at all

or wear tapout

or yell out the moves to do while sitting in hooters

or make any type of statement regarding a atheletes performance

or play it on xbox 360

pretty weak fight.  99% of guys would have been KO'd in that early Carwin fisy flurry.

After that, he was just ready to fall down on his own.  Brock gave him the out.

This morning, Brock is no doubt much more fuct up than Carwin.

Brock is more fucked up and the champion still.  That tends to mend the wounds better just to let you know.  Brock covered up good enough to get through the barrage thrown by Carwin.  Carwin ran out of gas.  When he did Lesnar got out right away.

When you are on the ground getting whaled on balling up is exactly what you are suppose to do.

"Little girl" huh? You must be a beast in the ring or cage "tonymctones"? Maybe you should give Brock some lessons on how to fight.
What kind of background do you have in fighting? Frank Mir is a world's class BJJ fighter and submitted a Mundial BJJ champ in the cage while he was still a purple belt. His stand up game is also top notched as he showed against Nog and Kongo.

And Brock can't take a punch, eh? He was pounded for several minutes from one of the hardest strikers in the game.

Again I won't even go into Brock's superb conditioning. Stick to oiled men thongs because you know absolutely nothing -- nothing -- about fighting.
LMFAO well lets see my background in fighting? hmmm Im a 2 time national judo champ...have trained in japan multiple times at colleges with two japanese olympian coaches, have trained with multiple olympians here in the US...That good enough for you?  ;)

what is your background in fighting pellius?

LOL youre not suppoesed to ball up like a little girl...youre supposed to try and bring him in so he cant throw punches, counter with a leg lock like he tried to do after getting a little composure back...you DO NOT SIT THERE AND LET HIM HIT YOU...

Dude carwin missed so many punches dude you get that boxer in there who Ive got to believe has better striking accuracy with a little bit of training on how to defend against a take down and brock is done...

if you look at my posts im actually saying alot of the same things you are  ::) brock is not a well rounded fighter and as soon as he comes up against one he is done...

You are right.  But I think Brock balled-up like he did cause in reality that is a natural position for almost anyone getting beat like that without any training.  A person does what he can to protect himself and balling up is the answer to people who don't know what to do.  Brock obviously does not know what to do on his back or in that situation.  Once Carwin ran out of gas he was aware enough to recognize that and then get out.  When Brock gets hit he looks like a person in a school yard fight when he puts his head down and holds his arms out.  He does go backwards too.  he just is not a boxer.  he really needs to work on his standup.  With his power and size it would be a very good tool for him.  But, his condition and heart is top notch.  He didn't seem to tired

exactly, you get that boxer with a little training and he hits lesnar with a jab then lesnar looks at his feet LMAO that guys is going to feel like he just won a free steak dinner...

brock was gassed at the end of the first round you can watch the videos and see when he has carwing pinned against the cage...

I agree with pellius that wrestlers are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world but what brock did in the 2nd round was more than enough time to recover he didnt really expend that much energy from the position he was in.

First, now that I'm awake.........

Let's remember this was Brocks first fight back, there must have been some nerves going into it.

Second he was fighting a guy touted to have the greatest KO power, more nerves.

Third, Carwin couldn't completely defend the takedown in the first, who else has the wrestling ability carwin does to avoid that? A boxer?

Fourth, Brock just spent most of the first round on his back getting bet up and was able to take advantage of Carwin stepping away to catch his breath and stand up, so he held him against the cage until the round ended..........that's your excuse for saying Brock gassed?  Find yourself a video of the fight and look at Brock when he comes out for the second round.......he looks fresh and ready, Carwin looks exhausted.

Fifth, Carwin couldn't finish Brock when he had the chance, elbows, punches Carwin was lost on the ground, nobody has ever taken that kind of abuse from him and made it out of the first.

Watch the fight a couple more times tony, Brock trys several times to grab an ankle or Carwins head, he's just eating punches when he does so he covers back up.

im not even going to address the nerves comments...

bro watch it again what may look like him trying to grab something is lesnar trying to block punches he did try once or twice to bring him in but thats it...

carwin did do good with not getting taken down in the first round though...

of course brock looks fresh and carwin looks gassed brock didnt do shit and carwin was punch drunk...

the guy on his back has an decided advantage in energy consumption, carwin should have started to pace himself when he realized he wasnt going to finish lesnar in the first round.

Your blind hatred has skewed your objective opinion, it's cool.

I have no horse in any of these fights, all fighters are tools for me to enjoy watching them abuse each other. I watched that fight 4 times now and I see a different fight than you do, it's all speculation as to what we think was going on, but I saw a guy trying to defend and cover an onslaught.

That being said, I agree 10000000000000000% that Brock running like a scared bitch was fucking hilarious, no doubt! ;D

LOL i agree a big man like that hahahha that was some funny shit...

I dont have a horse either though I actually dont like the UFC these days its to much fluff and pagentry and they put on fights way to often to have a consistant base of good fighters...its turned into brawling matches but I guess that was going to be the evolution of it anyway...

I dont dislike lesnar either he is obviously extremely overrated and overhyped if you ask me though...

Friend, Judo ain't fighting. No offense, brah, but as a Blue Belt in Jiu-Jitsu I was routinely submitting Black Belts back in the 1990s during free training (they don't stand you back up after a few minutes).  I started at the original Gracie Torrance academy in 1991. Was there when it all began. Was there at the first UFC. Watch Rickson school Royce like a little cub getting him ready for his UFC debut. In fact, my first BJJ lesson was with Royce. Did the in house bare knuckle no rules fighting. We went to Indian Reservations where we didn't have to worry about legal issues. Those were the days when the Gracies had an open challenge to any and all comers and 10 grand if you could be them.

Sure Brock isn't well rounded. He isn't going to be a guard fighter. He balled up to protect himself and it worked. The fight shouldn't have been stopped which is so blindingly obvious because Brock wasn't hurt and went on to beat Carwin. Brock, despite lacking some skills, is a tough MoFo and ain't no little girl. To say he can't take a punch is just assinine.

LMAO my friend i crossed trained heavily in BJJ and traditional judo isnt fighting ive said it many times on here but I didnt do traditional judo hoss...I did competitive judo crossed trained in BJJ no gi wrestling and a little bit of sambo with a sambo national champ... ;) judo players didnt even really start concentrating on ground work until recently it was all manly standing and 99% of BJJ guys ive ever randorid with i could plant on the mat at will...

I agree its different as ive said many many times on here but dont try and act like I have no idea whats going on  ::)

LOL brock is a big dude and he uses his size very well, He didnt really get caught with a solid shot but Ill say he doesnt have a glass jaw but he certainly is afraid of getting hit....

LOL @ don't have a good chin.  He ate punches and spit them out like they were nothing.

Brock's "one dimension" is better than everyone elses multiple dimensions combined.  FACT.  He's crushed every oponent despite the different styles among them.
I'm not a fan at all.  I was cheering for Carwin big time and loved that first round.  I want to see Brock get his ass kicked more than anything.  BUT, there's no one even close to him right now... he would make Fedor look like a geriatric right now, and even in Fedor's prime, I doubt he lasts more than 2 rounds against Brock. and no one else, in any of the organizations HW divisions are even close right now.

Progressed? The guy did nothing but get beat on the entire fight until Carwin let him submit him. What an embarrassment.
Means nothing. Its all about who picks up the win in the end and Brock won. Case closed.
