I don't think it hurts you overall / in the long run if you workout for 2 - 3 hours at a time, 3 - 4 times a week. That's how I've always trained. People worry needlessly about Cortisol, IMO. Cortisol is catabolic, for sure, but it plays a necessary role in the overall process - it's like taking 1 step back, 2 steps forward.
The article posted is nothing new and a bit wordy, perhaps. Back then it was less juice, more training (higher volume, longer duration), while now it's more about relying on drugs to add muscle, rather than emphasise lifting. There are very few guys nowadays who are known for lifting hard and heavy, which is why they don't look as impressive as the guys who had the rep for doing so did - Ronnie, Dorian, Haney etc
