When I was a sophmore in college, I happened to see my old weight training coach from HS, I asked him, since I didn't have access to a gym (it was summer time) what I could do for calves and forearms.
He told me to get two buckets of sand and stand in them and do calf raises...try doing a 20-50 of them, when you get real good , do 100 of them, for advanced, make the sand wet...it's harder
then go to steps...and rep out some more, to help with shin splints go put your foot under the stove and lift up, 20-30 reps
for forearms use the same two buckets of sand, but stick your hands in them, and grab a handful and make a fist, for a variation, twist the hand, do 20-30 reps...follow same pattern as wet sand
have softball or tennisball with a nail in it that has been curved, put a chain with weight on it, and lift softball with hand, then try with baseball, superset with bucket of sand....
Has anybody tried this old school routine?
