What ever you call the direction they are heading it is rife with corruption at all levels.  It's like Mexico over there in the sense that if you need some thing done you only need to bribe the right people, if you get in trouble you only need to pay people off.  That includes everything from customs to an ordinary police officer .


What ever you are doing you are experiencing growing pains.  It will be a good while before the country hits it stride.  Hell the median income in the country is still what $900 dollars a month per family?  I know in Moscow it's a little higher.  But still.

Lol American has loads of coruption and it's economy is contracting at the moment due to the multiple layers of coruptions. Russia won't ever compare to the USA, but it still has alot of potential.  It's population collaspe is hurting it far more than oligarchs or anything like that. It's simple if you can't grow property values, you can't have growth, so if your not in moscow or stpetersbourg, you can't have economic growth it's not complex. If they can solve there population promblem alot of issues will go away quickly, comparing it to mexico is not far at all.

 Russia won't ever compare to the USA in what terms? For the last century soviet union and now Russia have only been undertaking a legit responses to the threats the US have imposed. Before say 1900 no one have given a shit about America. Now the whole picture tremendously changes. lol Mexico lol

I am not implying Russians are worse off than Americans.  I guess that's a good topic for another
 thread.  What I am implying is, until Russia's economy gets on par with the USA it will never have a comparable military.

American does have plenty of corruption in very subtle ways compared to Mexico and Russia.

What won't be relevant, Russia's military?  It won't be as reveleant as is was in the cold war when it had a say. What does the Iraq war have to do with your point?  We are in a war in afganistan, just as long the russians were, a war that helped bankrupted the USSR.

Because I describe the curruption in america as subtle didn't mean I was implying that it was not real.  Lol.  The difference is you dont bribe police in the open as a matter of practice in the USA.

I don't see Russia having much of anything as a military power in the near future much less 10-20 years from now.  The country is still busy learning how to be capitalist.  It's rife with corruption right now.  Their military is mostly outdated.  They have some modern equipment but too few in numbers and lack the expertise and experience on the battle field to use it effectively  against China or the USA.  They are likely to still be entrenched in the force of numbers doctrine of battle.  The first gulf war showed how effective that is.

Now China on the other hand could be a real rival in 20 years, but they a have a whole lot of catching up to do.

 Russian cars, computes and airplanes lol. An antiquated and untested military? I'd repeat myself but I for myself would be glad to clash guns with the USA. The problem is that it's not our goal to expand our influence all over the world, as being said we've got vast land what else would one want?

I welcome you to any city of Russia, I didn't see a black man in 10+ (a one!) years in my city and it's almost a million city, I been to Moscow not awhile ago I seen Japanese, Chinese but not a black man. The blacks are like a diamond to find, no it's like an Uranium!!! Or you may have meant the people from the former soviet republics? I know a lot of people like this, they all have a Russian citizenship and speak a perfect Russian. What would one else want to desire. Let me speak for myself as I live in Russia.
 I never said that Russia is gonna to surpass the USA. I wish peace and prosperity to US but you don't need to push, the world trend is that BRIC countries are the most rapid developing economics, Russia included and the world trend so far is that US are losing their former and imaginary stand.
