Without disrespecting your heritage, the circumstances of one's birth is nothing to be proud of, and are irrelevant in that I think it's important to understand... it's not so much where you came from, but where you are, or where you're going that counts.
Perhaps the circumstances of your birth & childhood is something your parents can be proud of, but not you.
