Guys: How do you "break up" with someone?

I have a friend who met someone from one of those online dating services about 3 weeks ago.  The first 2 dates went fine I guess except from the moment he met her he's said "she's really nice, but...." and then a plethora of excuses came (she's got young kids, she works weekends, blah blah blah).  Obviously (to me) no chemistry, so why the hell did he keep going out with her, or communicating with her   I don't know.  Now he wants out but is too afraid to hurt her feelings cuz she's always saying how great and wonderful he is.

So, guys, how do you gently break up with someone?  Single gals, what's easiest to hear if you're on the receiving end?

Depends on the level of engagement, but generally stop calling, texting, or emailing.  The message is clear: I'm moving on; you should too.

I just learned that as a start to my new year this year.... They are breeding such creatures by the millions anymore. Like a cancer to all womanhood. Better to just live a life of a bootycall bachelor til Viagra stops working. Then end it all with an awesome drug overdose so as to not be a burden to and family left behind during old age.

Oh, and the upfront thing always is best in that situation. Stringing her along just makes her attachment even stronger and when it does end you end up with some psychopath doing whatever her imagination can fathom.
