Tarec Saffadine was Woodley's last opponent, he's actually a legit, battle tested, world class kickboxer with pretty solid takedown defense who trains out of Team quest.  It was a clear victory but unimpressive I agree.  Jake Shleids and post UFC 69 GSP have employed the old " take him down and try to keep it there and as long as he possibly can" routine to which you refer.  It's pretty effective against guys who rely on stand up to win fights, factor in sub defense and there's nothing the person on bottom can do,most of the top guys in the WW division utilize this same gameplan.  That style is a nightmare for Nick Diaz, which is probably why he has been kept away from guys like that for so long.

So basically you're saying it would be an easy payday for Diaz, you just don't want to admit it and are trying to twist the mediocre talent of Woodley and the WW division of Strikeforce into something more than it is.

You remind me of a a shitty promoter who moonlights as a Tae Bo instructor at Curves.  Am I right?

Diaz has been strategically matched up with guys who will stand and bang with him to make exiting fights since his departure from the UFC, Daley,Cyborg,Noons,Sakurai,Zaromskis,Smith,Shamrock,Denny,Corbbery,Inoue,Aina,Gomi...All primarily stand up fighters, a couple of which have ok defensive BJJ.  Diaz was dropped twice by Kj Noons,Gomi dropped him,Zaromskis dropped him,Aina dropped him,Daley dropped him twice...he gets hit alot...his boxing is mostly offensive.  He's an accumulative pressure fighter with decent body-head combos, but he still kinda leaves his head out there and holds his hands at his waist alot.  Comparing Woodley to Kos on TUF 1...just tells me- (1.  you didn't watch TUF 1 and (2.- you've never actually seen him fight.   Stick to bodybuilding and shrinking your beanbag, you still don't have a grasp on how skill sets match up in MMA (probably because you've never thrown a punch in your life).

Now aint that the truth, especially the last part. Right on, man.

its not that he's been matched up against guys that he can beat or provide a good match up for him. its just that there arent many legit welters in strikeforce or dream for him to fight against.

im not saying hes gonna beat woodley. but he should. tyrone woodley wouldnt even be in a top 10 discussion in the ufc welters division, while diaz right now is ranked top 5 in the world (even if its due to his win streak against lesser competition ) .

Diaz should win, but wrestlers are his kryptonite....if anybody in the welterweight division in Strikeforce had a style that could beat him it's Woodley and that's factoring in both fighters strengths and weaknesses (something you should try, relying on fight finder as your sole source of info is a bitch move).  Are you trying to say I remind you of Dana White? and are you hitting on me?  We know you are in love with Dana White, but keep your homo erotic fantasies to yourself sister.

Glad you finally agree with what I said originally. I accept your apology once again.  It would have been a lot easier if you didn't get disgruntled with everything I say on here.

I know that you don't like Dana White, but please, you don't have to take it out on everyone that happens to have respect for the guy.

Oh, you mean me just repeating what I said originally???  Someone is just learning to read apparently, I'm proud of you, that's a good first step.  Maybe your next one will be to actually understand MMA and how it works.

He doesnt care. Only cares about brand, popularity, star power, gate sales, Dana White and Zuffa. None of which relates to actual fighting ability, which he knows nothing about.

agreed but I think Nick has evolved since his UFC days.....

Jury is still out about how he would match up against GSP, but I think he'd have less problems against guys like KOS or Sanchez these days.
