Gov. Jan Brewer issues veto on campus gun bill

Arizona governor Jan Brewer issued a veto on a bill permitting guns to be carried on public rights of way at public university and community college campuses, the Arizona Republic reports.

The proposal, which was approved by the Arizona Legislature last week, was the latest in a string of bills increasing the rights of gun owners in the state. Ms. Brewer called the measure “poorly written,” while signaling support for additional efforts to expand where firearms are allowed to be carried.

“Bills impacting our Second Amendment rights have to be crystal clear so that gun owners don’t become lawbreakers by accident,” Ms. Brewer said.

The Arizona governor’s veto follows in the wake of a controversial measure aimed at requiring presidential candidates to provide proof of birth before being allowed on the state’s ballot. Ms. Brewer vetoed that measure as well.

Dude, she is about restricting freedoms.  maybe she has her reasons, like bloomberg had in NYC.  But she is about limiting personal freedoms - detaining issue, and the gun issue now.
