Hell no, Im saying that they had to work 10x as hard cause they didnt know what they were doing.
Look at Dorian, trained very little, just worked the muscle exactly as far as it needed to go and let recovery do the rest. And he didnt train like a pussy.
The old timers overtrained the shit outta themselves, didnt know what to eat to diet, so their bodies were all over the place, needed more rest, less training, different foods.....
The were constantly fighting against the lack of knowledge, if you get what im saying.

I honestly think that Larry Scott was decades ahead of the curve on training and nutrition knowldge for bodybuilding.

42 Years ago. Today, he wouldnt get a pro card.
That is true, his kind of physique wouldn't compare to the modern freaks, no question about it.
Hmmm, bodybuilding seems to be only sport where we try to go negative on past legends.
In baseball for example we honor past greats like Babe Ruth or Hank Aarron, for what they did in their era.
In my opinion, the classic physiques like Larry Scoot are timeless works of human art.
I can look and admire a classic corvette and still enjoy riding in my new Kia optima.
Just my 2 cents and everyone has their own opinion.
