I stopped by my credit union the other day to hit the ATM machine in the drive thru... It was out of order so I had to go inside. There was not a teller to be found. There were a bank of phones and video cameras instead of tellers.  I conducted my business through a phone, never seeing a human.  

I was in there a year ago and they actually had human tellers.. I wonder if this was kind of what he was referring to

So in your opinion, if someone said "Automation is affecting jobs" you would say it is nonsense? That doesn't make a lot of sense when it is hard to argue that automation has a positive effect on jobs. Using the credit union as an example, 1 teller is doing the job of what use to take 6 tellers due to automation. 5 tellers theoretically are jobless now.

Yeah - better to have 50 people waiting in a line for 45 minutes over $100 transactions than to have an ATM machine.     That damn direct deposit too!    We need to get rid of that as well!
