I love the orange filled vials. You can only imagine the photographer setting this up.

Photographer: OK Dr Weinstein you need to have a smug authoritarian look on your face otherwise the moron clod who read this shit won't buy it.

Jay, you look pumped man, you look pumped! Now we need you to look like a dumb ass motherfuc... actually you're good, just keep doing what you're doing.

Quick someone fill up some vials and beakers and we can let the real science go on! Wait... there's no dye or food colors? Don't worry, just let Jay fill 'er up with his piss. His kidneys are fucked anyway!

In all those 'inside the bodybuilder's house & lifestyle' dvds that you can find in your nearest bargain bin - the interview asked Jay what was inside his fridge and Jay replied 'well I just ate about a few pounds of bacon and a chocolate milkshake'

The interviewer was puzzled and asked to see the fridge, so Jay just lifted his shirt up.

This has got to be the absolute worse going around at the moment

Johnnie jackson after his win at FIBO plugging his new sponsors "All stars".

"SWITCHING TO ALL STARS AND USING THEIR SUPPLEMENTS HELPED ME STEP UP MY GAME IN POWERLIFTING (referring to the fact he got a new P.R in the deadlift using their supplements) AND IN BODYBUILDING AS YOU CAN SEE FROM MY WIN TODAY"

Haha, AllStars buys from generic makers and re-labels.  Anyway, even if they only pay him $1000 a month, that pays the mortgage on a nice house in arlington vs an 100 sq ft apt in NY.  JOJ just putting his best hustle on.

AllStars buys from generic makers and re-labels.

As does almost all the companies.

MuscleTech did this when it began, FACT. I was there and close enough with Paul Gardiner to know exactly what was up. All that "sample experimental batch only available to test subjects and pro bodybuilders" crap? No product even existed. And when he actually had product, it was simply bought from a generic provider.

Fart powder.

Does the company essentially still do this? Can't say, but it wouldn't be a stretch. VERY few supps companies have their own manufacturing plant where they produce the ingredients.

The whole damn industry is a scam.

And even a company like Pinnacle, that DID have such a situation, produced nothing much better than very expensive fart powder. The "science" behind the formulations was pathetic and very, very, VERY far fetched.

These motherfuckers like Gardiner are wealthy with what I deem "blood money". Ripping off young and/or naive folks who don't know any better.

NO ONE ever became a pro or successful bodybuilder because of nutritional supplements. EVER. And no one ever grew huge and strong because he spent thousands of dollars on this brand or that.

Do you know if they were spiking the the original acetabolan, nortesten, and whatever the 3rd was called? It felt like dbol, when I was stupid enough to blow serious cash on that back in the day, as a kid. Definitely increased sex drive.

Did bob kennedy get renumerated/thanked for all he did for gardner? Bob made him, did this guy even pay his final respects?

I know its biz, but it is a serious rip-off. I was in sup industry at a time, and lost all passion/drive for selling snake-oil scammed over-priced junk.

Can't comment on any spiking of the products, sorry. Don't know.

Paul only made life more and more difficult for Bob Kennedy. Bob gave him the platform upon which he made millions and he only put the screws to Robert ever more tightly as his wealth increased.

In my opinion, Gardiner owed Bob and MMI MILLIONS in "thank you" pay. No strings attached. But not ol' Gardiner. He leveraged his wealth and bullied Kennedy.

Total piece of shit. TOTAL.

That's what I gathered.

Without him he'd still be managing a sup store

How did he bully him, through ad money, and leveraging space in magazine?

Did Bob have a soft spot for him, see him as a good kid ?

Yeah, he bullied Bob with ad placements and, like, leveraging his considerable monetary payments to RK Publishing into better and better deals that only served his best interests, while hurting Bob's ... things like that. "Give me this deal or we'll cut our ads in half", that sort of thing (that's just a hypothetical example).

I no longer feel a need to keep this kind of thing quiet as Bob has now died.

As I say, Paul owes Bob and MMI EVERYTHING.

It's difficult to conceive of a human as self-serving and worthless as Gardiner. And to think I used to hang with him and eat lunch almost every day with the turd.

I don't know what Bob saw in Paul, no. But he always did seem to be a "golden boy" of sorts. Can't figure it.

Either way, Bob clearly didn't see the true man behind Paul's big smile.

Paul also owes BIG TIME to, among others, Greg Kovacs. Without Bob, MMI and Greg, MuscleTech would be nothing. Zero. Gardiner should cut him a cheque today for two million and call it even. Just because.

The world's full of scum, unfortunately.

... Or is it just that he is no longer being sponsored by the company, but is still using the amazing MuscleTech line of products? He just has to go buy them at his local GNC.

I can't see him giving up using these hardcore supps as they were the main reason he won Mr. Olympia and crushed the competition.

I know he is starting his own line, with ingredients never before used in nutrition supps, and believes they will revolutionize the industry, but certainly he can't do without a weekly fix of MuscleTech, can he?!

Im sure he has a TON of MuscleTech products left. I think as a pro he got unlimited amounts each month. I had an amatuer deal and got $500.00/worth of stuff each month and STILL have some.

Thanks for sharing

Bob Kennedy seems to be one of very few that did things for others and the sport of bbing, without fucking people over
I've heard so many good things and no negatives over the decades about the man

Kovacs was a huge part of that ad campaign, pretty sure like most bbers, got used and underpaid

Wasn't there another guy, big guy, canadian I think, blond haired, did some lumberjack type ads for MT ?

Fortress, these strongly held views of yours on the supplement industry, did you also have them when you were writing for musclemag and other bodybuilding publications or are they recently acquired?

I began discovering the truth when I joined MMI in 1993. My feelings have just gotten stronger and stronger throughout the years. Seen too much, I guess. I love training with weights (obviously) and building muscle and strength, but the whole bb industry is fucked.

If it's the same fortress from "ironradio", then he's a fucking tool. Him and his co-hosts are classic brain dead meat heads. I especially hate the geeky homo proff. Would love to beat his face in repeatedly.

Yep, same Fortress. Thanks for listening and spreading the word of Iron Radio, dude.

That "geeky homo (sic) proff" a brain-dead meathead? He's quite simply the most educated, intelligent and full-of-integrity person I have ever known. Also, he can, in all likelihood, kick your ass to Saturn and back. And if you give him a sword, he'll slice your ugly mug off in less time than it takes you to insert your buttplug, Mildred. Anyway you, ahem, slice it, you lose.

My other co-host, Phil Stevens, is Mr. Go-Get-'Em, and he deadlifts world-beating poundages. Oh, and he, too, would end your life in mere seconds ... and possibly feed you to his livestock.

Yeah, I'm a fuckin' tool, but two out of three ain't bad, right?  :D

I shall read your post on today's show.

P.S. Send me some free MuscleTech crud, will you? I could use some of those fine plastic jugs for collecting frogs down the crick.

and you put bread on their table while you were working for musclemag- musclemag has totally blatant supplement ads smack on the middle of their webpage (just so you don't miss them I suppose). Signed by an IFBB pro, as it were.

I appreciate your strongly held views.

What the fuck did you do to disseminate them when you had the necessary means, being a BB "journalist".

As I say, I BEGAN discovering the truth when I started there. I was 23.

What I did to spread the honest word upon leaving is, I joined Peak Training Journal and made MANY enemies. And for our efforts we didn't last past six or seven issues. We didn't play the game and therefore didn't last.

When I worked at Virtual Muscle, we again attempted to present unbiased information and data collected at Dr. Lonnie Lowery's Kent State lab. Our funding fell through when Pinnacle didn't like our honesty. So again.

Why do you think I basically no longer write in the industry?

I won't name all the folks who I've pissed off or put on the defensive.

I think you probably get the drift.
