For real? lol... you don't like the idea of being able to stop a lone idiot from pushing the vehicle to crash speeds on vertain vulnerable parts of track, if the technology is available?I'm not worried about impinging on the 'freedoms' of a train operator with 200 lives at his fingertips. I am worried about the rights of the hundreds of passengers. I doubt any sane, reasonable train engineer would say "I don't want the job because your train won't let me do 120mph when I should be doing 40mph."However, as someone who loves to argue with anything, I do admire your approach on this thread
Shouldn't these things be remote controlled and not be able to get up to speeds like that with corners approaching...Hell cars have backup sensors and will hit the brakes if something is behind you be these trains don't have multiple sensors so things like this are next to impossible?
Crazy, eh? It's like going to Niagra falls and there not being a railing to keep you from walking straight over the edge or a buying a sword without a "do not stab sword into your stomach" sticker! What's going to keep people from walking right over the falls or disemboweling themselves?
Yes, they said in news that kind of accident would be practically impossible in Finland because the driver of the train just can't exceed the speed limits. I have always thought that's the case with all modern trains.
Unfortunate event. You shouldn't fool around when you have lives of hundreds on your shoulders.
I don't know how stuff like that and stepping inside a train and expecting not to get smashed into a concrete wall at 200 kph relate to each other...
