Quantifying the Influence of Climate on Human Conflict
http://www.sciencemag.org/content/early/2013/07/31/science.1235367

"We find strong causal evidence linking climatic events to human conflict across a range of spatial and temporal scales and across all major regions of the world. The magnitude of climate's influence is substantial: for each 1 standard deviation (1σ) change in climate toward warmer temperatures or more extreme rainfall, median estimates indicate that the frequency of interpersonal violence rises 4% and the frequency of intergroup conflict rises 14%. Because locations throughout the inhabited world are expected to warm 2 to 4σ by 2050, amplified rates of human conflict could represent a large and critical impact of anthropogenic climate change."

The Uberman Hypothesis (coined eponymously for renowned preacher and evolutionary biologist, Uberman) states that in the not-too-distant future, there will be a swell of violence across the globe as competition for scarce resources increases.

What Uberman didn't know is that his claim may be fulfilled merely as a function of the weather! The developing nations have the worst of it: the real estate they inhabit is supposed to experience the most increase in mean heat, including a 4σ increase in many parts of Africa and, perhaps most ominously of all, in India (seriously overpopulated and armed with nukes). If the above correlations are correct, then, all things being equal, we may see a 16% increase in interpersonal violence and 56% increase in intergroup conflict in many parts of the globe over the next half century.

ahhaha

In Canada... or at least in Toronto all shootings occur during the summer months. Makes sense though cause who in the hell wants to go outside and kill someone when its -20 degrees celcius  ???

Wow, i can destroy this real quick, let me begin.

1) Humans favour a climate that is consistently above the freezing point facilitating survival, plentiful supply of animal food sources, and easy agriculture.

2) Naturally, due to the above stated reason(s), a large percentage of the world's population will inhabit warmer climate regions, which automatically increases statistics in relation to crime, poverty, and population growth.

The research doesn't correlate warm climate regions with violence; it does indicate that "across all major regions of the world," above average temperature and/or severe rainfall are significantly correlated with violence (to the tune of a 1σ increase above the mean in temperature equating to 4% and 14% more interpersonal and intergroup violence, respectively).

back in college, they used to talk about things that are next to each other, which could be misconstrued to be related, but do not really have any impact on each other though

like ice cream and swimming deaths

both happen a lot in the summer

but does eating ice cream really have any thing to do with dying while swimming?

 no

but both happen in summer    which is really the thing that contributes to both things happening so much

my take on global warming? yes   I believe in it   and I believe it will do what these experts are saying   make us kill each other more     as if we do not already kill too much
