Supposed to be working out.  Thats not the point. They give naturals the edge they need to make significant progress.
Not if they eat excess cals they dont.

It's an appetite suppressant also  ::) You should have no desire to eat food for most of the day.

You are burining more calories in the gym (with the added energy) and you are unknowingly eating less calories because you do not feel the need to over eat.

How? Fat burners are designed to make you eat less.

Are you saying that fat burners do not work?

What are you talking about? Most first world people take "stims" on a daily basis. Whethet its chocolate, soda, or coffee. Most of us are unkowingly addicted to caffiene.

Fat burners give you a potent dose in a specific window. Take them 45 minutes to an hour before a workout, and you will have some of the best sessions of your life.

Coffee does not compare. Lol

Coffee does not compare for many because they are habituated to coffee. They don't necessarily associate it with pre-training because they have it with breakfast, at 11 o' clock in work, when they go for lunch, after a meal etc. You associate the ridiculously overpriced "fat-burners" with training and therefore benefit greatly from a placebo effect and a megadose of caffeine (compared to normal cup of coffee) with some synergistic stimulant ingredients perhaps giving you an extra kick.

But make no mistake, the effects of LEGAL pre-workout supplements are 95% due to caffeine. If you limit your coffee to your pre-workout period and dose it accordingly (X mg caffeine per X kg bodyweight) you will feel its effects.

I never said caffieine was not the major component. What I am saying, is that coffee does not compare, especially for people who drink coffee daily.

My fat burner cost 20.00 bucks for a 3+ week supply. How much does an inferior coffee cost per the same time period?

A good quality ground coffee costs less than 10 and will last for several weeks. Also, caffeine tablets are dirt cheap and give the same effect. You can dose them much easier too.

I get what you're saying about the fat burners but ultimately caffeine is dirt cheap and many of these pre-workout stimulants are really overpriced. Also, on the appetite suppression thing, that is a major hindrance to naturals trying to gain weight as they often won't have as large an appetite as somebody who is using.

Naturals trying to gain weight? They are called fat burners for a reason.

This is for naturals who want to burn fat. Where did I ever state differently?

We all know the pros/cons of steroids. We know that (taken properly) the pros far outweigh the cons, in terms of the potential energy, strength, and recovery.

But what about the guys who refuse to take steroids? I suggest taking at least a fat burner.  I know from first hand experience. They helped me lose 60+ pounds.

The reason I say this is because I recently started taking fat burners again (Hydroxycut Hardcore this time)

It really is a great supplement. You not only feel a rush of energy for hours, but it also is an appetite suppressant. You do not feel the need to binge while on this supplement.

The energy goes a long way to help break plateaus in the gym, and the food cravings go away.

Fat burners replace creatine as the #1 supplement a natural can use in my opinion.

Is this fat fuck giving bodybuilding advice  ::)

The bottom line is you are pretty unfit. Fit people can work out just fine.

I like to do short runs. Out here in Thailand at 35C/95F -that's usually a 5k run every other day at around 24 mins and 30 seconds. It's hot, it's humid, I'm reasonably fit but no athlete and I'm 43.  On alternate days I cycle 30k in an hour and 15 mins - but that's not flat out because the terrain (and dogs) don't allow it.

Now - what risks am I taking on if I add a fat burner to that equation? Well, I don't think they are small. Not with the humidity, temperature and my age. Neither do I think they are small for am obese 32 year old like yourself who is trying to get in shape. Why on earth take such risks?

For a buzz?

You are also an addict. As an addict you should know that stimulants don't GIVE you anything, then just borrow from some future point. Hence comedowns and hangovers.

There is nothing worse than being unfit and starting to exercise again. It's fucking horrible. On the other hand, you get a nice, natural buzz just by training when you are fit.

You just have to grit your teeth and get fit. That is all. As an addict you should not fall in to the trap of trying to shortcut fitness through pills. You aren't working out to get a buzz, you are working out to better yourself.

solid advice. I am being a bitch about it. The alcohol puts a damper on everything. During the work week, its not so bad, but on the weekends?

Forget it. I am drunk 75% of the weekend.

I know you may think it's a joke, but I am truly coming to a crossroads.

I might have to start a days without alcohol diary on here. Something to document my thoughts and potential struggles. I have about 2-3 shots of vodka left. I want to stop cold turkey after that (which would be today)

I would like the support of Getbig when this happens. Who knows how I will handle the possible withdrawls?
