When i'm just lifting and eating what I want - "You're looking a bit chubby"

When I grow my hair out and spend £30 getting a nice haircut to look like a Mens Health model she says

"I like it when you shave your head, you look a bit more rugged."

In order to combat all this, I diet in secret, wear a nice wig for work and the gym, and when i'm not leaning out i'll hide in the loft and eat Haagen Daz

I kinda disagree. Unless the chick is completely lacking in self-esteem, muscle is either a "must-have" for a small percentage or a "nice-to-have" for the vast majority of the remaining. If you've got game, looks, some money, class, style and humor, muscle is just a very nice cherry on top.

If she's got self-esteem issues, then all bets are off. Muscle means you are conceited.

It's biological really. Men generally prefer women with curves as it's a sign of femininity, health and good (future) motherhood.
Women on the other hand generally prefer men who are taller, muscular and athletic as it's a evolutionary sign of masculinity (good hunter) and status.
