Reminds me of the old AAU  meets that included a strength or lifting event along with the bodybuilding contest.
Cool that it's raw lifting without those absurd modern bench shirts.

Thanks Howard. I've been involved with organizing and running these classic powerlifting / power benching comps since 2001. So my skin's pretty thick at this point. Getting smart ass remarks from guys who were in grade school, when I began my career, doesn't affect me too much, ha! They'll come around once they see how much fun our shows are and how nice it is to finally be rid of the goofy bench shirts and squat suits (14 years ago our sport was a mess.) And we're hoping that the bodybuilding community will appreciate getting to compete on the bench without having to take on the benchpress specialists. Plus the question "Who's the strongest bodybuilder in the community" is an interesting one to me and hopefully to others as well.

This guy is a beast and not talked about enough. NOt good enough to win big shows, but crazy build for a guy his strength.

Hes retired. But has some deads with mark bell at super training posted from last week. Plus advises most of todays top lifters.
