One time I was on a trip and I didn't sleep for like 40 hours. So in my way back to home, I was in the train and then I'd think someone is talking. No one was. I interpreted the sound of the train like it was someone talking. I was looking at passenger mouths near and no one seem to be talking but it's the train sound. The fucking train made possibly in Germany was speaking arabic. Unbelievable how your mind work after being tired.

It's just some form of neurosis/anxiety/depression.

It's more of ruminations - a mechanism triggered by the mind to cope with various frustration/s.

Truly sick people never question themselves anyhow, so questioning your state of mind is a signal for health and not the opposite.

People like Dahmer & Co. are/were on another level - their thoughts were more a kind of thought forms paired with vivid hallucinations. Very frightening stuff.
